Surely some revelation is at hand-----Surely the Second Coming is at hand. The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out When a vast image out of Spiritus MundiTroubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert A shape with lion body and the head of a man, A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun, Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds. بكل تأكيد هناك وحي على وشك الظهور،بكل تأكيد الظهور الثاني على وشك الحدوث،الظهور الثاني! نادرا ما تنطق هذه الكلماتعندما يغشى بصري روح الأكوانفي مكان ما في رمال الصحراء ،هيئة بجسد أسد ورأس إنسان،يحدق بشرود وقسوة مثل الشمس،يحرك فخزيه ببطء ، وتترنح حولهظلال طيور الصحراء بغضب. The darkness drops again----- but now I know That twenty centuries of stony Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle, And what rough beast, its hour come round at last, Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?يخيم الظلام ثانية ، ولكنني أعرف الآنأن عشرين قرنا من النوم الحجريقد عكر سباتها كابوس سرير هزاز،ما هذا الوحش الهائج التي حانت ساعته أخيرايشق طريقه كي يولد في بيت لحم؟ترجمة محمد عبد الكريم يوسف ......
