๐บ๐ฆ ๐ท๐บ #NEW #Zelenskyy today on #Russian and #Ukrainian war efforts after Moscow drone attacks:
"Ukraine is becoming stronger. The war is gradually returning to Russian territory โ to its symbolic centers and military bases, and this is an inevitable, natural, and absolutely fair process," President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video address.
"Russian aggression has suffered bankruptcy on the battlefield. Today is the 522nd day of the so-called "special military operation", which the Russian leadership expected to last a week or two."
At the same time, the president urged people to be aware that "this winter, Russian terrorists can still attack our energy system and critical facilities... It is very important that local authorities across the country right now - in summer and September - be as active as possible in everything that needs to be done before the cold months of the year,"

At least 16 people were killed, including one child, after #Russian forces attacked the city of #Kostiantynivka in the #Donetsk region, reports #Ukrainian news publication Hromadske, referencing the Donetsk regional administration. According to Hromadske, the regional administration said 31 people were injured. Via Meduza.
Russian military sources have claimed that it was a Ukrainian AD missile launched nearby that crashed in the market area, Ukrainian MOD claims it a Russian S-300 SAM repurposed for ground attack, as is not uncommonly seen in this war.

Russian military bloggers are blaming Russian General Teplinsky for ordering the glide bombing of a Ukrainian bridgehead in Kherson region by Su-34s even after a November 25th shoot down of another Su-34 carrying out that mission. The bloggers claim that Teplinsky is โobsessedโ with destroying the Ukrainian bridgehead and has โcrossed a lineโ, sacrificing hundreds of soldiers, Marines, and now up to four Su-34s. According to their sources, the general disregarded warnings of Ukrainian shuffling of advanced air defenses to Kherson and ordered the flights anyways. These bloggers may be referencing Colonel General Mikhail Teplinsky who is the embattled commander of Russian VDV forces in Ukraine.

๐ท๐บ ๐บ๐ฆ #Russian soldiers come under cluster munition fire on the #Kharkiv front โ translated and subtitled by @wartranslated โ the footage shows Russian infantrymen riding on and then dismounting from an armored column after a wave of cluster munitions targets them and results in several injuries seemingly. The cameraman and others dismount in partial chaos and confusion, apparently not knowing their location, and take up positions in the woods as small arms fires and other weapons can be heard as they attack/shoot at presumably #Ukrainian positions (although some of the soldiers say they are unsure there are even Ukrainian soldiers nearby) another cluster wave is heard striking around them before the video ends.

๐บ๐ฆ ๐ท๐บ #Tatarstan Strike: A Breakdown https://theatlasnews.co/latest/2024/04/02/tatarstan-strike-a-breakdown/
On April 2, #Ukraine carried out drone attacks against industrial zones in Nizhnekamsk and Yelabuga, Tatarstan, some 1,200km away from the front, marking the deepest strikes against #Russian infrastructure since the start of the invasion.
One of the drone targeted the TANECO oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk, while another struck a hostel in Yelabuga, resulting in injuries, while reportedly attempting to hit a nearby drone production facility.
While the attacks are already notable due to their distance away from the frontlines, they were also carried out using drones made from converted utility aircraft, a tactic previously seen before in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020 when Azerbaijan converted old Soviet An-2 biplanes into drones to fly them over Armenian frontlines to draw anti-aircraft fire or be used as loitering munitions to strike targets.
The first strike was carried out against the Alabuga โspecial economic zoneโ in Yelabuga, a manufacturing hub meant to attract foreign investments to the region through reduced tax rates, using a Ukrainian-made Aeroprakt A-22 Foxbat light utility aircraft that had been converted into a drone and packed with explosives.
Footage and pictures taken at the scene shows that the drone struck a dormitory of the Alabuga hostel, located directly across from the Alabuga Politech STEM college. Russian media reported that the strike wounded at least seven people, including students from the college, however, none of the injuries were described as life threatening.
Ukrainian sources have reported that the intended target of the strike was a known Shahed-136 explosive drone production facility located next to Alabuga Politech. Albatross LLC, a Russian military drone producer, also appears to have recruited students from Alabuga Politech to work at the facility through job postings shared amongst Russian milbloggers. ๐บ๐ฆ ๐ท๐บ A #Ukrainian drone attack targeted an oil refinery in #Tuapse, northeast coast of the #BlackSea, #Russia, causing a fire. @ourwarstoday
The refinery, owned by the #Russian oil giant Rosneft, includes a port terminal, and primarily exports its products, with 90% of its output destined for international markets. The refinery has an estimated annual processing capacity of 240,000 barrels per day.
Russian officials reported that no casualties occurred and nearly one hundred emergency responders managed to contain the fire. The blaze was attributed to falling drone debris by regional authorities, who accused #Ukraine of targeting civilian infrastructure.
The extent of the damage remains unclear, and it is unknown if the refinery is operational. Via theatlasnews.co
