🇺🇦☢️🇷🇺 NEW #IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) experts at the #Russian-occupied #Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (#ZNPP) in #Ukraine have inspected parts of the facility so far without observing any visible signs of mines or explosives, but additional access is needed, IAEA says in a statement.
“With military tension and activities increasing in the region where this major nuclear power plant is located, our experts must be able to verify the facts on the ground. Their independent and objective reporting would help clarify the current situation at the site, which is crucial at a time like this with unconfirmed allegations and counter allegations,” Director General Grossi said. The five basic principles for the protection of the ZNPP that Director General Grossi established on 30 May at the United Nations Security Council state that there should be no attack from or against the plant and that it should not be used as storage or a base for heavy weapons – multiple rocket launchers, artillery systems and munitions, and tanks. Those full principles read as follows:
-There should be no attack of any kind from or against the plant, in particular targeting the reactors, spent fuel storage, other critical infrastructure, or personnel;
-ZNPP should not be used as storage or a base for heavy weapons (i.e. multiple rocket launchers, artillery systems and munitions, and tanks) or military personnel that could be used for an attack from the plant;
-Off-site power to the plant should not be put at risk. To that effect, all efforts should be made to ensure that off-site power remains available and secure at all times;
-All structures, systems and components essential to the safe and secure operation of ZNPP should be protected from attacks or acts of sabotage;
-No action should be taken that undermines these principles

At 1250 EST, the #UnitedStates Department of Defense announced one of the largest single aid packages to #Ukraine, worth $1.3 billion USD. The items below are included in the package:
-Four National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS) and munitions;
-152mm artillery rounds;
-Mine clearing equipment;
-Tube-Launched, Optically-Tracked, Wire-Guided (TOW) missiles;
-Phoenix Ghost and Switchblade Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS);
-Precision aerial munitions;
-Counter-UAS and electronic warfare detection equipment;
-150 fuel trucks;
-115 tactical vehicles to tow and haul equipment;
-50 tactical vehicles to recover equipment;
-Port and harbor security equipment;
-Tactical secure communications systems;
-Support for training, maintenance, and sustainment activities.
The NASAMS are especially needed by Ukrainian tactical formations that face Russian TACAIR and LRA strikes during the counteroffensive as well as resupplying embattled air defense batteries defending key infrastructure in deep battle areas.

50 killed, 6 wounded, including a child, after a Russian missile strike reportedly on a supermarket and café in the village of Hroza in the #Kupiansk area of #Kharkiv region of #Ukraine this morning. Casualties as of an hour ago.
The bodies of the deceased, including a 6-year-old boy, were removed from the destroyed infrastructure, Oleh Synehubov, a regional military official, said. The bodies of 29 victims have been identified, the Ukrainian interior minister said. The other bodies were sent to facilities in the city of Kharkiv.
There were locals inside the store when the missile ripped through, Ukraine’s interior minister said, triggering a scale of devastation not seen since an attack on a railway station in Kramatorsk in early 2022 killed at least 50 people.
At least one person from every family in Hroza had congregated in the cafe on Thursday for a wake, Klymenko added. According to the latest death toll, the attack wiped out about one-fifth of the village, which was home to 330 people.

The Russian Armed Forces have significantly increased their activity in all sectors of the front. In the Kupiansk sector, Russian fighters have destroyed another AFU crossing in Kupyansk. Positional battles are ongoing on the northern outskirts of Synkivka. To the south, our military personnel have occupied the Shirokaya ravine on the Torsky ledge, advancing up to a kilometer forward.
In the Soledar direction, the Russian Army has occupied the Bakhmut dachas on the western outskirts of Bakhmut, forcing the Ukrainian formations to retreat. Fierce fighting is taking place in the area of tactical heights near Kleshcheevka.
On the northern flank of Avdeevka, Russian troops are fighting on the approaches to Stepovoy, simultaneously expanding the zone of control at the Avdeevka coke plant. The enemy is actively using armored vehicles in this area to stop the advance of the Russian Armed Forces.
In the Orekhovsky sector, the Russian Armed Forces have launched an offensive at the Robotyne - Verbove line. The enemy has transferred forces to other directions, creating favorable conditions for a counterattack.

On April 2, #Ukraine carried out drone attacks against industrial zones in Nizhnekamsk and Yelabuga, Tatarstan, some 1,200km away from the front, marking the deepest strikes against #Russian infrastructure since the start of the invasion.
One of the drone targeted the TANECO oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk, while another struck a hostel in Yelabuga, resulting in injuries, while reportedly attempting to hit a nearby drone production facility.
While the attacks are already notable due to their distance away from the frontlines, they were also carried out using drones made from converted utility aircraft, a tactic previously seen before in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020 when Azerbaijan converted old Soviet An-2 biplanes into drones to fly them over Armenian frontlines to draw anti-aircraft fire or be used as loitering munitions to strike targets.
The first strike was carried out against the Alabuga “special economic zone” in Yelabuga, a manufacturing hub meant to attract foreign investments to the region through reduced tax rates, using a Ukrainian-made Aeroprakt A-22 Foxbat light utility aircraft that had been converted into a drone and packed with explosives.
Footage and pictures taken at the scene shows that the drone struck a dormitory of the Alabuga hostel, located directly across from the Alabuga Politech STEM college. Russian media reported that the strike wounded at least seven people, including students from the college, however, none of the injuries were described as life threatening.
Ukrainian sources have reported that the intended target of the strike was a known Shahed-136 explosive drone production facility located next to Alabuga Politech. Albatross LLC, a Russian military drone producer, also appears to have recruited students from Alabuga Politech to work at the facility through job postings shared amongst Russian milbloggers. The refinery, owned by the #Russian oil giant Rosneft, includes a port terminal, and primarily exports its products, with 90% of its output destined for international markets. The refinery has an estimated annual processing capacity of 240,000 barrels per day.
Russian officials reported that no casualties occurred and nearly one hundred emergency responders managed to contain the fire. The blaze was attributed to falling drone debris by regional authorities, who accused #Ukraine of targeting civilian infrastructure.
