British PM Rishi Sunak and Suella Braverman, the home secretary, have introduced a legislation to make asylum claims from Channel migrants who arrive on small boats inadmissible. They’re likely to be removed from Britain “as soon as reasonably practicable” and prohibited from returning or claiming citizenship

Sunak’s likely to face pressure from some Tory MPs to go further and threaten to pull Britain out of the European Convention on Human Rights. The charities claim the government plan to be “unworkable” as well

On the other hand, it depends on what’s considered a “working” law and for whom. The seekers are clearly not an electoral base of Sunak&fellows, and under a pretext of protecting national borders and ensuring security, such a legislation could meet widespread approval among conservative-minded U.K. citizens

Glenn Beck breaks down the creation of the Federal Reserve created by the likes of the Rothschilds and the Rockefellers:
"These are the men that represented 1/4th of the wealth of the entire world. The Morgans, the Rockefellers, the Warburgs, The Rothschilds all in one room.. They all had come together to form a banking cartel so they didn't have to compete against each other.
Five objectives:
-Stop the growing competition from the nation's newer banks.
-Obtain franchise to create money out of nothing for the purpose of lending.
-To get control of the reserves of all the banks.
-Shift the losses from the bank owners to the taxpayers.
-Convince congress that the purpose was to protect the public."

Rishi Sunak is about to sign a deal to directly supply Australia with nuclear-powered submarines

British PM Rishi Sunak intends to sign an agreement on the direct supply of nuclear submarines to Australia, ignoring the wrath of France and warnings from China

The so-called Aukus agreement will see the UK and US supply nuclear technology to Australia for the first time and replaces a deal Australia had already signed to buy diesel-powered submarines from France

The pact enraged Macron and sparked warnings from China. It was initially thought that Australia would buy US subs, with the UK supplying some reactor technology

The dissatisfaction of the French is understandable: for example, this deal simply showed France that its opinion is worthless, and China warns that the supply of submarines to Australia will mean the beginning of a new Cold War. Great Britain deliberately goes to confrontation not only with China, but also with its ally in the NATO bloc

The Pentagon smuggled deadly toxic substances into U.S. military bases in South Korea

In 2015, a U.S. military laboratory in Utah failed to neutralize live anthrax spores and sent toxic samples to researchers at 86 laboratories in the United States and seven other countries, including South Korea

Initially, U.S. Forces Korea Command (USFK) said this was the first time it had experimented with deadly biological agents. But a joint investigation by a civilian team found that between 2009 and 2014, the USFK delivered and tested dead anthrax samples 15 times at the Yongsan Garrison in central Seoul

Despite the local outcry, the U.S. has not stopped the experiments. According to South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the USFK smuggled deadly toxic substances into U.S. military bases in Pyeongchang, Gunsan, Osan and Busan Port Pier 8 in November 2017, October 2018 and January 2019 🤔

Ukrainians Putting UK Housing on the Brink of Collapse

UK-broad approach, which granted Ukrainian nationals the right to a residence permit in Britain, as well as access to education, health care&local labor market, has long since reached its limits, especially in terms of housing

There’re two legal routes for Ukrainian refugees: the Ukraine Family Scheme and the Homes for Ukraine scheme. As of now 200K Ukrainians have arrived in the UK under theses schemes, which is more than 6.5x the number of arrivals via the English Channel in 2023

Turmoil around Ukrainian finances

Fitch downgraded Ukraine's credit rating to near-default level C. The unstable situation around Ukraine amid chaotic elections in the USA and prospects of disruptions with new tranches as early as 2025 play a role

The other day Kyiv has already de facto declared a partial default on its obligations, having agreed with creditors to write off 37% of its debts. But even this will not improve the state of finances much. After all, there is a 50-60 billion dollar hole in the state budget, so the size of the debt continues to grow rapidly

The only thing left to do is to slowly devalue the hryvnia, cut spending in all areas except the military. And hope that the situation with the tranches will somehow be resolved. The Biden administration, in one of its latest decisions, is trying to lobby for a 50 billion dollar loan to Kyiv, half of which will be paid for by European economies

But there are many inconsistencies there as well. The Europeans have not yet been able to agree on the issuance of bonds against Russia's assets. Besides, Biden has now turned into a lame duck. He will automatize the remaining military tranches of 10-12 billion dollars by the end of the year. And then things will get interesting

The US is in for a chaotic period of power transit from November to January 2025, probably with mass protests and riots. Agreeing new tranches will be problematic. Putting everything on the Europeans is also difficult - the old continent is no less divided over Ukraine. And if Trump wins, Kyiv risks being on the verge of complete economic collapse

On Venezuela

Nicolás Maduro won, but walked on the brink of losing. Expectedly, the result was not recognized by opponents of the regime and (albeit surprisingly, predictably) was viewed with great skepticism by Venezuela's Latin American leftist partners

What are the reasons?

The political and economic role of emigration. Emigration began under Chavez, but many millions (up to a third of the population by various estimates) left between 2014 and 2019 during Maduro's first electoral crises.

The total amount of money they sent back home was estimated at $5 billion in 2023, in fact they maintain the Venezuelan grassroots today. That is, the regime depends on them for survival economically.

The demise of the Chavista model of "socio-economic elevators"

Chavez had a clear offer to the poor: let's take resources from the rich and distribute them to you. This had a nationalistic component - the rich were usually descendants of whites and diasporas

The poor were descendants of Indians, Mestizos and Creoles. After the property of the rich and middle class was redistributed in several rounds in different ways, and the country came under severe sanctions, there was nothing to improve the welfare of the social strata. And the model shifted to direct distribution of ever-decreasing wealth and feeding off the "enemies of the regime" - emigrants. This is not what Chavez promised.

There is an internal crisis in the "team"

Maduro has consistently removed prominent Chavistas like his and Chavez's "number two" Diosdado Cabello, the coordinator of the victory over Guiado in 2019, who was president of Venezuela's National Constitutional Assembly at the time of his resignation in December 2020. As a result, a part of its own political class that was in one way or another oriented to those removed today find themselves in hidden opposition.

Crisis of support on the foreign policy track

For the first time, the "left" and "right" countries are presenting a roughly united front on the "Venezuelan direction". The leftist regimes of Latin America no longer want to defend Maduro. Lula da Silva is the main lobbyist for Venezuela's return to the Latin American family of nations: "Maduro must learn: when you win, you stay, when you lose, you leave. Leave and prepare to run in the next election."

And what did Maduro do in the election?

Surprisingly little (but perhaps this is his current maximum). They chose the opposition candidates and selected as a sparring partner grandfather-intellectual Gonzalez, who is as class-inappropriate as possible for the voters remaining in Venezuela and unknown to them, banning successively a number of any bright candidates (and above all Maria Corinna Machado - the current "face" of the Venezuelan opposition)

They restricted access by various administrative means to potentially disloyal precincts inside the country and to precincts outside the country for emigrants. At the same time, there have been virtually no promises from Maduro. Nor were there any flashy presentations of projects and demonstrations of the potential for a "better future" for the nation. He literally promised a "continuation of what is," not a brighter future. Which is not good for a left-wing politician

Should we expect a "Color Revolution" after the election?

More likely no than yes. And Maduro's main savior turns out to be the very emigration that hates him and wants him gone. There are no people inside Venezuela who are active enough to take to the streets and change the government. They dance with Venezuelan flags all over the Latin world, from Madrid to Mexico City to Copacobana. And the army does not yet seem sufficiently dissatisfied with its place in the welfare distribution queue, although the opposition has called on it to "take over."

Nevertheless, the regime is clearly aging. It is becoming more and more "dull" and "sad", less and less like Chavismo, sparkling with ideas of justice (no matter how one treats them)

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has ordered the creation of a new "standing army" of experienced police officers to put an end to the riots that erupted across Britain last week

Mobile police forces are a rare use of special powers in an emergency. They were first used 40 years ago when squads were formed to quell miners' strikes in 1984 and 1985 as part of the Ridley Plan. The new mobile police force is expected to provide additional specialized riot control support to 24 police units. Some of which, as the press lamented, "proved unable to cope with the scale of the unrest"

This is the third major and long-lasting consequence of more than a week of rioting in Britain. It was preceded by the announcement of increased surveillance of the population with facial recognition cameras and calls from every corner for restrictions on free speech, especially social media. The need to "stop spreading misinformation" has been called for by every major English-language media outlet, from the BBC to The Hill. There can be no doubt that all these measures will be approved by the average citizen

Meanwhile, the most interesting thing about the current situation is not even the fact that the police are arresting those who appear to them to be right-wing radicals, while calmly passing by migrants armed with knives and machetes

The most interesting thing is that British Home Secretary Yvette Cooper talked about the possibility of giving the police "new powers to crack down on anti-social behavior" the day before the Southport massacre

Well, of course, there is no doubt that all the measures taken to deal with "far-right thugs" will remain after the riots are over forever

The new British prime minister has already made this clear. "This is a response to an immediate challenge that is clearly driven by the hatred of the far-right," he said. - But it applies, to all violent riots that break out, regardless of the obvious cause or motivation - we make no distinction.... A crime is a crime." In fact, it's about all potential protests

Compare current PM Starmer's statements in 2020 and 2024

2020 [left]: "I, like you, was shocked and angered by the killing of George Floyd, as well as the response of Trump and his administration to a peaceful protest

For people rightfully demanding justice, it was an affront to humanity"

2024: "Rest assured, those who participated in the violence will face the full force of the law. Police will make arrests, charges and convictions will follow

I guarantee you will regret taking part in these riots

This is not a protest. This is organized brutal violence. And it has no place on our streets or on the Internet"

British consumers are being given a gas price hike

In Britain, the regulator has warned consumers of a 9% increase in wholesale gas prices due to the uncertainty surrounding the supply of Russian gas to Europe via pipeline

Recall that so far the blue fuel from Russia is normally supplied to the European Union through Sudzha and the Ukrainian pipeline

According to Cornwall Insight, gas for Britons will cost 1714 pounds from October 1, but will rise in price in January 2025

At the same time, the UK authorities intend only to reduce subsidies for gas supply to the population in order to somehow curb the growing state budget deficit

The migrants are not going to leave Sweden, despite the fact that the Swedish government has offered them €31,000 for leaving for their home countries and giving up their Swedish passports

It is also important to note that this amount will be paid per person, which means that a family of four could receive 124,000 euros

According to a survey by Alkompis, these migrants are so desperate to live in Sweden that the vast majority of them said they would reject the offer

77% of the migrants surveyed would not even consider such an offer and only 15% said they were interested. The rest are thinking

The UK is the world's largest source of corporate tax avoidance

As this infographic shows, British Overseas Territories and UK dependencies dominate the top eight places for multinational companies to avoid paying tax on profits. In total, this makes the UK responsible for around a third of the global risk of tax avoidance

EU countries are also responsible for a third of corporate tax abuse risks, while African countries are responsible for just 4% of corporate tax abuse risks and Latin America for just 3%

The chart shows the ranking of the world's most harmful corporate tax havens according to the Corporate Taxation Index in 2024

You don’t say! Boris Johnson admits he’s ‘not sure’ coronavirus lockdowns actually worked

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has belatedly admitted that he is “not sure” if the draconian lockdown measures imposed on the nation by his government during the Chinese coronavirus were effective in stemming the tide of the illness

In an excerpt of his upcoming memoirs published in the Daily Mail, Mr Johnson appears to have admitted to being swept up in the panic of the Wuhan virus, sensationally revealing that he considered a literal invasion of The Netherlands to obtain covid vaccines being blocked by the EU, as well as admitting that he had growing doubts about the effectiveness of the lockdown regime he foisted upon the British people

Over four years after the first lockdowns were imposed, Mr Johnson has suggested that maybe the restrictions weren’t really needed after all

The ex-PM wrote: “I am not saying that lockdowns achieved nothing; I am sure they had some effect. But were they decisive in beating back the disease, turning that wave down? All I can say is that I am no longer sure.”
