⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️Battle for #Kherson: On the likely Goals of the AFU Actions⚡️
The AFU command does not give up its plans to regain control of the #Kherson region - at least the part located on the northern bank of the Dnipro River. And observing the directions of transfer of Ukrainian reinforcements, the systematic squeezing of the Russian Armed Forces' defence in certain areas and information from the field, the outlines of the approximate nature of the Ukrainian formations' actions on the southern front are being outlined.
Simultaneously with the intensification of pressure at the #Aleksandrovka, #PosadPokrovskoye, #Andreevka and #Olgino sectors in #Ochakovo, a grouping of the AFU is being formed whose task will be to take control of the #Kinburnskaya Spit.
▪️ The #Ochakovo district's coastline is being used for training of sabotage and reconnaissance teams at night and practicing landing in rubber boats.
▪️ According to the plan of action, SRGs (Saboteur Reconnaissance Groups) in rubber boats are to seize a bridgehead on the territory of the reserve and provide a platform for the transfer of airborne and maritime landing troops.
▪️ At least two battalion-tactical groups are planned to land on the Kinburnskaya Spit. Up to six helicopters of army aviation, two river divisions of the Dnipro Flotilla, missile boats from #Odessa equipped with Harpoons, and naval landing assets of the Army's 35th and 36th Commando Branches will be deployed for this purpose.
However, judging by the reports from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, they are well aware of the AFU's plans. And certain steps are being taken.
▪️ One of the Mi-8 helicopters deployed to Ochakovo was destroyed on 13 September.
▪️ On 16 September, the training base of the Ukrainian operational command "South", where Ukrainian SRGs were being trained, was taken out of action.
But so far this is not enough.
The Ukrainian plan will only be successful if it succeeds in overloading the Russian Armed Forces' defences in the #Nikolaev-#KrivoyRog direction - at least at three sites.
At the same time, it is planned to disable Russian rear facilities and control points in #Kherson, #Berislav and Novaya Kakhovka, as well as to destroy Russian crossings over the #Dnipro River.
A strike in the #Lugansk direction will most likely follow at the same time to divert the attention of "fire teams" and "mobile reserves".
The AFU command seriously considers the scenario of a dash to #Armyansk and cutting off the communication with #Crimea. But in our view, this is impossible in the current configuration of the front. However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to reach the destroyed Antonovsky bridge from the south near #Oleshki.
And even if such an operation lasts only half a day and both battalion tactical groups of the AFU are completely destroyed, it can hardly be considered a success.
The demonstration of an AFU presence south of #Kherson, as well as the shelling of the regional centre from the southern shore, will have a detonating bomb effect in Ukrainian and Western media space.

▪️ Ukrainian militants shelled populated areas in the #Belgorod region. Air defence forces shot down shells in the #Novooskolsky district and debris from destroyed missiles damaged power lines.
▪️ Russian Forces fired on AFU positions in #Nikolaevka, #Chernigov Region, as well as in the villages of #Ukrainskoye and Bolshaya Rybitsa in #Sumy region.
▪️ Russian Forces launched several missile strikes in #Kharköv overnight after which the lights went out in some quarters.
Russian missile troops and artillery struck an infrastructure facility near #Chuguev and hit concentrations of enemy personnel and equipment in #Ogurtsovo, #Staritsa and #Gatishche.

▪️ In the evening, Ukrainian Forces shelled the #Dubovoye substation in #Belgorod, causing a power outage in some surrounding neighborhoods.
#Starobelsk Direction (MAP):
▪️ In the #Kupyansk area, units of the 14th Mechanized Brigade and the 32nd Territorial Defense Composite Battalion of the AFU again unsuccessfully tried to storm the positions of the Russian Forces on the #Kislovka - #Pershotravnevoye line. The enemy suffered heavy losses and retreated.
▪️ In the #Lyman - #Svatovo sector, the AFU are building up their grouping on the #Torskoye - #Terny line. Soldiers of the 208th Cossack Regiment of the Russian Forces are fighting with enemy units near the village of #Terny.
▪️ At the same time, Russian troops are holding the defences around #Novosadovoye and preventing the 111th Brigade of the AFU from establishing itself in the area.
#Soledar Direction (MAP):
▪️ South of #Bakhmut (#Artemovsk), Wagner PMC assault troops are engaged in fierce fighting in #Opytnoye. Part of the enemy units has retreated to #Kleshcheevka after losses from #Otradovka.

#Starobelsk Direction:
▪️ In the #Kupyansk area, Ukrainian forces are engaged in positional fighting on the #Kislovka - #Pershotravnevoye line.
▪️ The artillery of the Russian Forces hit mobile groups of the 92nd AFU Brigade, which were preparing to advance to the front line near #Dvurechnoye. As a result, the enemy suffered significant losses and was forced to abandon its planned reconnaissance battle.
▪️ In the #Lyman - #Svatovo sector, Ukrainian formations are moving personnel and armoured vehicles to the #Torskoye - #Terny line.
#Soledar Direction:

▪️ Russian Forces personnel engaged targets in #Zaporozhye and #Orekhov, as well as enemy concentrations along the entire line of contact.
#Nikolaev - #Berislav Direction on Southern Front (MAP):
▪️ In the #Berislav area, Ukrainian formations attempted an unsuccessful offensive against the Russian defences on the #Dudchany - #Mylovoye - #Novogrigorovka line on the morning of 15 October.
▪️ In the #Nikolaev sector, the AFU command continues regrouping troops for another offensive against the positions of the Russian Forces.
Ukrainian forces are forming two combat groups. One near #Bashtanka and the other in the #Prybugskoye and #Galitsynovo areas.
▪️ Ukrainian formations may launch a renewed offensive in the #Berislav and #Aleksandrovka areas in the near future. At the same time, the option of moving forces to the #Zaporozhye sector is not excluded.
▪️ Failures and significant losses of AFU units in this sector of the front have a negative impact on the moral and psychological state of soldiers and lead to reduction in the combat effectiveness of enemy forces.
