#YURI Review of last two days: Krasni Liman, after 3 weeks of stubborn defence causing very heavy losses on the enemy, have been left by the Russian troops. Within the time it has left until the new contigents of the Russian Army reach the front lines, the enemy probably will try to exploit its advantage and undertake another offensive operation towards Svatovo that may fall as well. After that, any further offensive by the AFU will be hardly if at all possible.

Yuri concurs with the opinion expressed by Col. Khodakovsky, that the 3-week heroic defense of Liman bogged down the enemy offensive, and bought time the rest of the Army, making the enemy spend their best troops and reserves.

Also, Yuri notes the improvement in the Russian MoD - unusually, they recognized the loss of Liman the very day it happened, and hopes that the improvements there won't be limited to their deficient PR, very much criticized by Yuri and many other observers. Español: @rpd_es

#YURI WEEKLY Briefing of the outcome of the battle for Liman. A strategic settlement have been lost, but the enemy offensive have been detained for 3 very important weeks. The enemy prepares the new offensive towards Svatovo and Kremennaya, but have very little time left before the foilage falls, the roads become impassable with autumn rains, and the new Russian units arrive to the front. God was on our Side - Situation on the morning of 03 October 2022:

Yesterday the enemy, with a powerful blow, broke through the defence of our troops in the north of the #Kherson region and in large columns (over 100 armoured vehicles) rushed south. Having overcome more than 20 km along the road to #Berislav, by evening it had run into our positions near #Dudchany, and from that moment the fortune went to the side of Russia.

At first the enemy was hit hard by aviation, then our artillery joined in. Then the enemy seemed to start getting lucky, as a powerful downpour glued our aviation to the airfields, but as it turned out by morning, the rain ends in autumn much earlier than the country roads dry out, and yesterday's successful breakthrough essentially turned into a mousetrap for the breakthrough units as of the morning. The AFU columns cannot get off the asphalt, and our artillerymen are working on them, finishing off what survived the night.

The roads in the north of #Kherson region are littered with broken Ukrainian equipment and corpses of soldiers, the wounded are being carried in packs, and to save the situation one must either pull the columns back or pray to God that everything dries out quickly. But it's not May and I really hope so...

Anyway, I am very glad that in this really difficult situation for us God was on our side. True, we have enough problems there too (our grouping near #Olgino is also hanging on those very country roads), and the enemy is trying to fortify his positions and of course is preparing even in such conditions to develop his initial success. But his most important advantage, the space for manoeuvre, he has lost for a while at least. And so we continue to watch...

#YURI The Russians retreated to the south in Kherson region, having reduced the lenght of the front lines by half, and are entrenching in the new defence lines, intending to hold there until the arrival of the reinforcements. Yuri, citing the British intelligence, says that almost all other parts of the Ukrainian front except the Kharkov and Kherson regions, including the borders with Russia in Sumy, Chernigov, and even Kharkov region, are exposed for a Russian possible attack. Relative calm near Svatovo, where the enemy accumulates forces, but so far does not attack. The Russian troops advance In Bakhmut, and near Donetsk, where a lot of enemy troops were moved to either Kharkov or Kherson. The Russians will have to hold their lines until the reinforcements arrive.

#YURI The Ukrainian offensive towards Kherson began in earnest with a reconnaissance by combat of quite a significant force. Weather factors, unusually early autumn rains, and increased density of defense, as well as artillery and air force, allows for the Russian defense to hold on so far. But the coming weeks promise to be very hot there. Another Ukrainian offensive may commence any day now near Svatovo. There are Russian advances, albeit insignificant in some other places, as the enemy exposed most of the other parts of the front except for Kherson and Svatovo direction.

#YURI Attacks on Kherson continue against the lines where our troops retreated and entrenched recently. Today's attack, another recon by combat with forces of up to four battalions, was unsuccessful for the enemy that retreated with serious losses. Also, a threat exists in Zaporozhye direction, where the vecinity of the nuclear power station have been shelled heavily, and a significant enemy concentration is observed. The enemy group near Svatovo, near the new Russian border, did not manage to execute recon by combat as their formations were hit by missiles and drones. Russian missiles hit a number of power supply substations near Kharkov, to disable the railway junction of the city. Wagner men advance near Bakhmut, taking a number of settlements, and, if the impulse is maintained, an operational crisis similar to ours in Liman may happen to the enemy there. In Español @rpd_es.

4. #Artemovsk (#Bakhmut): Wagner PMC continue to press on the southern suburbs of the city and are mopping up the remnants of #Zaitsevo.

#Kherson Direction:

After yesterday's attempted breakthrough, which was met with a very tough response, the enemy is regrouping. Most likely tomorrow or the day after tomorrow the attack will continue. According to the guys at the front, the first battalions of mobilisers have been reported here.

#Zaporozhye Direction:

The relative calm continues. Reserves of both sides are also being drawn up here, but the enemy has not even conducted a reconnaissance battle yet, but SRGs have intensively begun to enter our territory, which means there will be an attack.

#Donetsk Direction:

Our troops, taking advantage of the weakening of the enemy's reserves, are advancing near #Pervomayskoye (the northern part of the village, heights) and #Maryinka - #Ugledar.

#Bakhmut (#Artemovsk) Direction:

The offensive south of the city and in the southeastern part of the city continues and is successful.

#Svatovo Direction:

So far the enemy has not been able to organize anything serious. Our aviation and artillery are disrupting offensive attempts.

#YURI WEEKLY Enemy offensive in Kherson, unsuccessful, in Kharkov oblast have not started in earnest as all enemy groups that deploying, were decimated by the airforce and artillery before they could attack, and in Zaporozhye without serious movement (although a successful attack of the enemy here could have caused serious problems to the Russian command). Donetsk: Russian forces successfully advance, taking the large part of Pervomayskoye, trying to wedge between Maryinka and Ugledar, and taking a number of villages south of Bakhmut, reaching the south-eastern suburbs of this key point of enemy defence. All in all, the most important news was that there were no news. First contingents of the mobilized are seen on the front, replenishing the active units personnel. Regular reserves arrive too.

Attack on Crimean bridge was the only truly important event of the week, although its effect was less than the enemy might have hoped for.

#YURI considers the continuation of the strikes on the infrastructure of Ukraine a reasonable solution to avoid the further and greater bloodshed on both sides. The “bloodsuckers” of Kiev, he says, were shown their place today, and expect the morning with the same feeling as the people they hold hostage, as their future depends on Russia’s decision whether to continue with the strikes or not. If the stikes continue, Ukraine will face a complete infrastructure collapse very soon, and “will be bombed back into the Stone Age”. The objetive of today’s missile stikes, Yuri considers, was to cause a large-scale black-out in Ukraine.

As of the fronts, the situation gradually stabilizes, although the enemy achieved a tactical success near Svatovo, establishing a bridgehead on Zherebets river. In Kherson, the attempt of attack of the enemy was thwarted. The Russians keep advancing near Bakhmut and Donetsk.

#YURI Russians counterattack near Liman, pushing back the enemy away from Kremennaya to Terny-Torskoye line. If they manage to hold these strategic settlements, the third battle for Liman, with roles reversed, may happen. Wagner men enter south-eastern parts of Bakhmut. Attacks near Donetsk towards Pervomayskoye continue to reach the third line of defence of Avdeyevka and threaten its supply routes. No active actions of the enemy in Zaporozhye or Kherson, but a large-scale enemy offensive is possible in the comming days.

Missile stike on Ukraines power grid continue with the same intensity as yesterday. The countdown to a complete energetic collapse is estimated by the Ukrainian side as 7-10 days (if the strikes continue). Yuri considers that it may happen in much faster, subject to the same condition.

#YURI Two days of Russian strikes have brought Ukraine to the brink of energy collapse, forcing the Kiev regime to discharge the reservoirs to power hydro-plants, in order to prevent the rolling black-outs. And the reservoirs weren’t nearly full after a dry summer, but the water is being spent anyway. Today, the intensity of strikes diminished for some reason.

Yuri considers that the enemy is preparing a large-scale attack in Zaporozhye direction, while maintaining a distraction activity elsewhere. The attacks there have been repelled with significant losses for the enemy, but they didn’t seem like a serious attempt of an offensive. The Russian command is well-aware of the danger in Zaporozhye. It is not clear whether the enemy takes the risk of attacking there, with the autumn rains already beginning.

Russian attacks in Bakhmut and Pervomayskoye continue. The enemy counterattacks in Bakhmut trying to dislodge the Russians from the neighborhoods taken yesterday, unsuccessfully so far.

#YURI Infrastructure across all Ukraine, from Lvov to Sumy and Kharkov, hit this afternoon in a massive Russian strike of missiles and drones, in apparent reponse to Ukrainian attacks of Belgorod city and Kursk region of Russia. Apparently, the exchange won’t stop in the coming days.

Battles in Bakhmut continue, no definitive outcome so far. The core of the defenders of Bakhmut on Ukrainian side are are not the AFU members anymore, but the mercenary units. Svatovo - Ukrainian attempts to probe the Russian defences, unsuccessful so far, but the enemy group there remains strong enough for at least a local offensive towards the town of Svatovo itself. Kherson - the distraction attack almost becoming customary, repulsed.

Increasing number of reports indicate that the AFU may attempt a serious offensive on Zaporozhye direction tomorrow, on the Ukrainian Army Day, or soon, towards Melitopol and Berdyansk.

The fighting for #Artemovsk (#Bakhmut) is entering its climactic stage. The enemy in this direction is seriously exhausted, our units have penetrated deep into the city and are storming the main defensive line, and therefore the AFU command requires urgent reinforcements, otherwise the fall of the city will not only be inevitable, but will happen very quickly.

And here is where a very unpleasant fork of decisions emerges for Ze-k (Zelensky) and his gang. Surrendering a major city to the enemy would collapse the myth of an all-conquering Ukrainian army, without which Western aid could be curtailed. It would also be a blow to the image of the authorities inside the country and against the backdrop of a stalled front an unpleasant hint of future defeats.

And this is where they have to make a choice. Either withdraw their units from #Zaporozhye and #Svatovo and reinforce the grouping near Artemovsk, or invest all their forces in a final strike.

The game is very risky. And what Ze-k chooses, I think, we will see by the end of the week.

#YURI WEEKLY REPORT Missile strike on the ukrainian infrastructure was rather a warning and a test for the Ukrainian air defences that fared quite miserably. Apparently, for now Moscow does not have plans to disable the energetic infrastructure of Ukraine completely, but such plans may well arise later. Also, a number of air defense systems were transferred to the rear, opening a possibility for the aggressive actions of the Russian airforce on the front lines.

Kherson: first serious Ukrainian attack, repelled with significant losses. Svatovo without serious enemy movement, on the contrary, they’ve missed a tactical Russian counter-offensive towards Krasni Liman. Donetsk/Adveyevka - after the Russian attack towards Pervomayskoye, the enemy withdrew to the last, third line of defense on Vodyanoye/Optytnoye. Bakhmut - Russian troops finally entered the town, but it is still contested in fierce battles.

#YURI Russian troops allowed the Ukrainians to collect the bodies of the dead in the north part of the Kherson oblast, after two days of their unsuccessful attacks. The number of KIA and WIA is estimated in about 250 men, some 25 tanks and around 50 of the lighter armored vehicles. According to Ukrainian sources, the units supposed to attack today declined to do so, seeing the utter defeat of the previous waves.

Prisoner exchange “110 for 110” took place between the sides of the conflict. The Russians returned 108 female POWs to the Ukrainians, and 2 more refused to return, and preferred to stay in Russia. In exchange, Russian civil sailors and some 30 servicemen of the Russian army, LPR and DPR militias returned home.

#YURI The defensive battle for Kherson seems inevitable as the enemy concentrates more forces there to attack. There are several lines of defence built, but Yuri recommends all the civilians to leave the right bank of Dnieper, to avoid staying in the way of the military doing its job. The battle expects to be extremely fierce, the battles on the close approaches or even in the city itself, are probable. It may well become the decisive battle of the war.

Calm in Zaporozhye. Battles for Bakhmut continue, as well as in Pervomayskoye near Donetsk. Taking advantage of the Ukrainians withdrawing reserves from the area of Svatovo, another successful tactical counter-attack have been executed by the Russian forces near Kupyansk. This way, they started to deal with Dvurecnoye bridgehead, that have been causing them trouble last weeks.

The Russian army, taking advantage of the fact that the AFU has moved part of its forces from #Kupyansk direction, launched a local counterattack in order to improve its position in this area.

The day before, our units took control of the village of #Gorobyevka, which was a prelude to today's strike in the direction of the #Dvurechnaya railway. And if successful, the #Dvurechnaya bridgehead will be finished, which will be an important moment to restore, at least partially, our defence line along the #Oskol River.

The Wagner PMC troops continue to push through enemy positions in the southern part of the city. The attack is heading north (towards the centre) and west. And we already have the route to #Konstantinovka under fire control and are in fact less than a kilometre away from it.

As a "nail in the ass" we have the enemy's stronghold at the school of #Opytnoye, so this area is leveled in the morning not only by artillery but also by aviation. Capturing #Opytnoye will greatly untie our hands and allow us to surround the main enemy forces in the central part of the city faster.
