⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ #Chronicle of the Special Military Operation for 12 Oct 2022⚡️

The Russian Armed Forces have again struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Today, targets were hit in #Sumy and #Dnipropetrovsk regions. Compared to the previous two days, the salvos were less massive, but work to overload the country's energy system continues.

#RussianFederation Territories:

▪️ The AFU shelled #Belgorod several times during the day, but all strikes were repelled by Russian air defences.

#Starobelsk Direction (MAP):

▪️ In the #Kupyansk direction, the enemy continued its offensive against the positions of the Russian Forces near #Olshany, where the 14th AFU Brigade was able to entrench around the village. At the same time, the enemy attacked on the line #Pershotravnevoye - #Orlyanka on order to reach #Olshany from the flank.

▪️ In the course of the day, fierce fighting took place around #Kislovka. Ukrainian formations initially gained control of the village, but then the Russian forces regained their lost positions. The enemy, in turn, suffered heavy losses of personnel and equipment.

▪️ In the #Tavolzhansky sector, the AFU hold a position defence and rotate their personnel. Russian Forces are engaging the enemy with massive firepower.

▪️ South in the #Lyman - #Svatovo section, Ukrainian formations tried to cross the #Zherebets River at #Raygorodka, #Karmazinovka, #Rozovka, #Novolyubovka and #Makeevka, but suffered losses and retreated.

#Soledar Direction:

▪️ The AFU command is preparing for another Russian offensive in the #Kodema - #Kurdyumovka and #Klinovoye - Krasnaya Gora areas, which if successful would result in the blockade of #Bakhmut (#Artemovsk) from the northeast and south.

▪️ Position fighting continues in the outskirts of #Bakhmut and #Soledar. Russian Forces launched missile strikes on an AFU position near #Bakhmut railway station.

#Lugansk Region:

▪️ Ukrainian militants struck #Troitsky and #Artemovsk(?). Several people were killed in the settlements and civilian infrastructure was damaged.

#Donetsk Direction:

▪️ Enemy artillery again shelled #Donetsk, #Makeevka, #Gorlovka, #Yasinovataya, #Zaitsevo and other populated areas in the #Donetsk agglomeration.

#Zaporozhye Direction (MAP):

▪️ The Ukrainian command is finalising preparations for a massive offensive in the area. Soldiers of the 65th Brigade of the AFU Reserve Corps conducted a reconnaissance battle near #Novoaydarovka, but, hit by massive artillery fire, suffered losses and retreated.

▪️ Ukrainian formations are strengthening their defences near #Dorozhnyanka and preparing SRGs for a raid on Russian Forces' positions near #Marfopol.

▪️ There remains a high risk of an enemy landing near #Energodar, both from #Nikopol and Zolotaya Balka.

#Andreevka and #Berislav Sections at Southern Front(MAP):

▪️ In the #Andreevka sector, units of the 35th Infantry Brigade attempted to storm Russian positions on the #Kostromka - #Ishchenka line, but suffered losses and retreated. New crossings across the #Ingulets are beiong used to supply the group.

▪️ In the #Berislav area, the AFU are preparing a new offensive and moving reserves to the front line.

The clearance of #Pervomayskoye continues. About a third of the destroyed village is reported to have been liberated.
Fighting is taking place in the direction of #Nevelskoye.

4. #Kherson Direction:
The enemy continued attempts to probe the front in the area of Davydov Brod and #Dudchany.

▪️ In #Bakhmut area, Wagner PMC stormtroopers advance further south of #Bakhmut. Fierce fighting is taking place in #Opytnoye. Individual AFU units have withdrawn from #Otradovka towards #Kurdyumovka.

▪️ Formations of the AFU's 93rd Mechanized Brigade defending this area are suffering significant losses of personnel. One of the brigade's companies has abandoned its positions and retreated to the #Druzhkovka area.

▪️ Unconfirmed information is spreading among the local residents of #Bakhmut about the liberation of a furniture factory in the east of the settlement by the Wagner PMC fighters.

▪️ Thanks to the destruction of an ultra-short-wave repeater and disruption of the Starlink satellite communication system, communication between AFU units has been disrupted. In #Toretsk, an AFU artillery unit hit its own position.

▪️ Despite the critical situation for the AFU, no decision has been taken to withdraw the military contingent from #Bakhmut. However, a team was dispatched to the vicinity of Chasov Yar to conduct reconnaissance and search for suitable terrain for the Soledar Command Post in case of withdrawal.

▪️ In the #Soledar sector, units of the Russian Forces continue to fight in the #Spornoye section. The command of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade expects an active Russian offensive along the entire frontline.

▪️ To deter the advance, Ukrainian artillery and army aviation conduct barrage fire to areas where Russian troops are advancing.

▪️ In the #Bakhmut area, Wagner PMC assault units continue fighting on the south-eastern outskirts of #Bakhmut and near #Opytnoye.

▪️ Formations of the 54th AFU Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade tried to retake the territory of an asphalt plant. Wagner PMC fighters repulsed the attack and Ukrainian troops suffered heavy losses.

▪️ Several battalions of the 54th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade were withdrawn to #Konstantinovka to be re-staffed with personnel trained in foreign training centres.

▪️ Units of the AFU continue to arrive in Chasov Yar. According to the plans of the #Soledar Task Force, a grouping of about 10,000 troops is to be deployed in the two settlements by 25 October.

▪️ Units of the AFU´s 53rd Mechanized Brigade have been moved to the city due to the threat of a defence breach by Wagner PMC assault troops. Reserves have also arrived in the #Andreevka area.

▪️ The artillery groups of the 30th and 53rd Mechanized Brigades are shelling attack areas of the Russian Forces in #Ivangrad, Veselya Dolina, #Otradovka, #Zaitsevo and #Kurdyumovka with barrage fire.

Fighting for #Vodyanoye, #Pervomayskoye and #Opytnoye. There are no significant advances. The fighting is developing in a positional manner with small advances by assault groups.

2. #Ugledar:

The offensive of the Russian forces has stalled in #Pavlovka. It has not yet succeeded in driving the enemy out of the rest of the village. It is also not yet possible to take the road to #Ugledar completely under fire. The fighting for the fortifications at #Novomikhailovka continues.

3. #Artemovsk (#Bakhmut):

Fighting for strongholds near #Opytnoye and near the industrial zone on the eastern outskirts.
Advance on #Kurdyumovka is not paying much dividends so far. The enemy is rotating worn-out units in #Artemovsk. Attempts to counterattack north of the city ended unsuccessfully for the AFU.

4. #Soledar/#Seversk:

The situation has not changed much. Positional fighting continues without much progress.
Street fighting in #Soledar and positional fighting near #Spornoye and #Belogorovka.

5. #Kremennaya:

Local fighting near #Terny and #Torskoye continues to constrain the enemy's initiative in the direction of #Kremennaya. The AFU is regrouping in the #Svatovo direction to try to break the front in the direction of the #Svatovo - #Kremennaya route, as well as to repeat the attack on #Tavolzhanka.

6. #Kherson:

The situation is without significant changes. The enemy continues to conduct small attacks and combat reconnaissance, but without significant results. Our troops continue to stand in the same positions amid rumors of retreat from #Kherson. The enemy intensifies shelling of the Antonovsky Bridge area and settlements on the #Dnipro River.

#Bakhmut Area:

The Wagner PMC assault units continue to advance on the southeastern outskirts of #Bakhmut and around #Opytnoye.

▪️ Ukrainian formations to deter Russian troops are shelling the areas of #Ivangrad, #Otradovka, Veselya Dolina, and #Zaitsevo.

▪️ Forces of the 2nd Battalion of the 53rd AFU Mechanized Brigade attempted a counterattack near #Opytnoye and #Kurdyumovka. During the fighting, the Russian forces repulsed the attack and pushed the Ukrainian militants back to their initial positions.

The losses of the 53rd Mechanized Brigade consisted of 31 dead and 33 wounded of varying severity. The wounded were evacuated to #Konstantinovka and #Kleshchiyevka.

▪️ The command of AFU Operation Task Group Soledar is preparing for fighting in the residential areas of #Bachmut. It is planned to move units of the 112th AFU Territorial Defence Brigade from the #Kiev region to the settlement.

At the same time, a plan has been developed to abandon #Bakhmut in case the defences are breached and a new line is formed at the Chasov Yar - #Konstantinovka line. Assault groups are being prepared near these settlements.

#Lysychansk Sector:

▪️ The AFU expects a Russian offensive on #Belogorovka. NATO countries transmitted intelligence about the deployment of the 12th Wagner PMC assault force in full strength near #Lysychansk. According to GUR, it is they who will form the backbone of the #Belogorovka offensive grouping.

#Kursk Region:

▪️ Ukrainian militants shelled the village of #Guevo in Sunzhansky district, damaging a power supply line and several residential buildings. There were no civilian casualties.

#Starobelsk Direction (MAP):

▪️ In the #Kupyansk sector, the enemy is rotating and restoring the forces of the 14th Mechanized Brigade after several failed attempts to attack the #Kislovka - #Yagodnoye line.

▪️ In the #Svatovo sector, Ukrainian SRGs from the 71st Jager Brigade are operating in the #Kolomiychikha -#Kuzemovka area. The AFU conducts reconnaissance of the Russian positions using UAVs.

➖ The 128th AFU Territorial Defence Brigade is be moved to #Stelmakhovka to rotate personnel.

➖ AFU militants again shelled #Svatovo with HIMAR, damaging several civilian buildings.

▪️ In the #Lyman sector, Ukrainian formations attempted an offensive towards #Ploshchanka, but failed and withdrew.

➖ Russian forces used a drone to detect the movement of an AFU supply convoy in the area and hit one of the vehicles carrying enemy ammunition.

#Soledar Direction (MAP):

▪️ Ukrainian formations attempted a counterattack at #Opytnoye and #Kurdyumovka, but the Russian forces repulsed the attack and pushed the enemies back to their initial lines.

▪️ The AFU command is preparing for a possible offensive by Wagner PMC assault troops on #Belogorovka from the direction of #Shipilovka.

#Donetsk Direction:

▪️ Enemy militants again shelled settlements of the #Donetsk agglomeration. Hit were #Donetsk, #Gorlovka, #Makeevka and #Yasinovataya.

#Zaporozhye Direction:

▪️ Artillery duels continue in #Zaporozhye region along the line of contact. Russian forces shelled targets near #Olgovskoye, #Gulyaypole, #Zaliznichnoye, Malye #Shcherbaki and #Novodanilovka.

#Dnipropetrovsk Region:

▪️ In #Dnipropetrovsk, the Elektrovoznaya power substation on the right bank of the city caught fire. The cause of the accident was probably an overload of the grid.

▪️ Russian forces shelled an AFU position in a lyceum in #Nikopol as well as positions in the #Marganets municipality.

#Nikolaev - #Berislav Direction on Southern Front (MAP):

▪️ In the #Nikolaev -#Berislav section, the AFU shell Russian positions with high intensity along the entire line of contact.

▪️ In the #Andreevka sector, a column of 20 enemy tanks advanced towards Davydov Brod. Another, consisting mainly of armoured vehicles, is directed towards the #Snigirovka sector.

▪️ In the #Berislav direction, the AFU shelled Russian positions from near #Petropavlovka and #Dudchany.

▪️ Ukrainian militants shelled #Kherson with HIMARS MLRS. Most of the shells were shot down by air defences, but two of them hit one of the city's transport companies.

2. #Ugledar:

The Russian Armed Forces' offensive on #Ugledar has stalled in #Pavlovka. The settlement has still not been taken.
The offensive at Novomikhailovka also came to a standstill. By regrouping reserves, the AFU was able to stabilise the situation and prevent the front from breaking through.
Both sides, according to reports from the ground, suffered serious losses.

3. #Artemovsk (#Bakhmut):

Fighting continues for #Opytnoye and fortifications to the east of #Kurdyumovka. Our troops are also trying to advance to the northwestern outskirts of #Artemovsk, which is increasingly becoming the equivalent of #Popasna.
The enemy has engaged some of the reserves accumulated near Chasov Yar to stabilize the front.
An assault on #Artemovsk is likely to begin after our troops took #Opytnoye.

4. #Soledar/#Seversk:

No significant changes. The frontline here is fairly stable.
Street fighting to the west of the Knauf plant continues in Soledar itself. No particular movement so far. As well as counterattacks by the AFU do not produce any particular results for the enemy.
Near #Spornoye and #Belogorovka there is no change.

5. Svatovo:

The enemy continues to probe our defences in the direction of the #Kremennaya - #Svatovo highway. As in recent days, attacks by the AFU have yielded few results with significant losses in manpower and equipment. The situation in this direction is close to stabilization.
In the #Kremennaya area, the enemy is tied up by fighting in the area of #Torskoye and #Terny.
It is advantageous for the Russian Armed Forces to maintain the current trends until the second half of November and early December, when the situation in this direction may change in our favour due to the mobilization reserves drawn in.

6. #Kherson.

On the front line, there are no particular changes, enemy attacks are fairly confidently repulsed with losses for the AFU.
Nevertheless, the enemy is amassing forces in the Krivoy Rog, #Nikopol and #Nikolaev directions for anticipated attacks on #Berislav and #Kherson. The Russian Armed Forces are preparing to defend.
However, rumors continue to circulate about retreating to the left bank and surrendering #Kherson.
For its part, the AFU continues to claim that the Russian Armed Forces are trying to lure the AFU into an offensive on #Kherson.

7. #Zaporozhye:

There are no significant changes on the front line. Signs persist of AFU preparations across the #Dnipro near #Energodar and the #Zaporozhye NPP, as well as preparations for a strike in the direction of #Pology and #Tokmak.
