🟥 The police union's bashes politics (https://dpolg.de/aktuelles/news/tiefe-trauer-wut-und-bundesweite-anteilnahme/) after Mannheim. They accuse the parties of fudging the statistics and keeping the issue of foreign infiltration quiet:
“The violence we encounter on a daily basis is relentlessly brutal, inhumane and often deadly. (...) The campaigns against hate and agitation often do not even begin to address the problems that our police officers experience and unfortunately have to endure on a daily basis.
The truth is that fanatical, ideologized and blinded potential perpetrators cannot be reached with all the theories and measures. But they are a serious and growing danger. Discussions about democracy and freedom of opinion do not reach perpetrators who are incapable of guilt or crime, nor religious fanatics whose world of thought seems completely alien and absurd to us.
The reality is that Germany has changed. Neither the glossed-over figures of crime statistics nor any political speeches and the most beautiful police images, which basically only draw a veil over the cruel reality, can change that.”
