Plans for a new public housing estate at site of the former Police Academy in the Mount Pleasant area were announced today! Around 5,000 new flats will be built to meet the demand for public housing in mature estates.

All flat buyers enjoy a housing subsidy when they buy a BTO flat. In addition, eligible first-timers will receive the Enhanced CPF Housing Grant (EHG) of up to $80,000. For resale flats, eligible first-time homebuyers can receive up to $160,000 in grants.

As a result, the vast majority of first-timer families are able to service their monthly HDB housing loans using their CPF, with little or no cash payments.
