February 1, 2021. Writing: In my dream this late January full moon the lion is as if on a raised hospital bed, tubes attached, unconscious, more grey than tawn, looking like death, face slack, blood and illness on his mane. He is huge and heavy and in health glows brightly golden, powerful in sacred resonance - but here appears completely helpless without us. I can see his face closely and seek signs of life in it. I know that this wounded leonine avatar represents the body and guardianship of holy community. He has fought hard to nourish all of us and he is dying, but… WE can flow life into him again. He believes in us and we believe in him. He is emergent, brings us gifts and relief when we clasp hands across spaces to make safe, inclusive communities. Please pray healing and strength for him. He is US. We Are the strength we need. --@maxmorris ••• https://t.me/s/MaxMoRadio/3011 ---20210201-155902, https://intuitive.social/memory • https://intuitive.pub/amp

Ari de Leña is a farmer at Kamayan Farm is a vegetable, flower, medicinal herb, and education farm just east of Seattle on Snoqualmie People’s land. In this conversation we dive into what it looks like to deal with stress and anxiety while being ‘August tired’. Because Ari and Elizabeth really get into the heart of stress and anxiety we decided to split our conversation into two parts. If you haven't listened to Part 1, we encourage you to go back and do so now! In Part 2, Ari shares some real-life strategies on how to manage stress and anxiety. In this episode we discuss some embodied techniques that we both use on the farm. Please take care of yourself and your needs before you listen, as you listen and as you process this conversation. February 2, 2021. This is so amazing. I used the rebounder last night and early this morning. I wanted to experience significant healing in my broken feet by the 40th Gregorian birthday on January 26th 2021; an aha tuned in the 40th Hebrew birthday, 21 Shevat 5781 (tomorrow). It is a singular experience to travel through this broken healing strengthening feet story. BLESSINGS TO STRENGTH OF ALL FEET. Sex education has been historically delegated to the state for American Jewry, but Judaism has a very rich tradition of teaching about sex, consent, and pleasure that we need today. Merissa Nathan Gerson leads us on an exploration of what it means for all Jewish bodies--cisgender and otherwise--to respect, to honor, and to teach one another about consent and to communally atone for our sins. Filmed at Repair the World: Detroit.
Merissa Nathan Gerson is a trained rape prevention worker and sex educator. Her writing on sexuality and Judaism appears in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The New York Observer, Tablet, Playboy, Elle and beyond. She holds an MA in Jewish Studies from The Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California with a focus on sex and gender as well as inherited trauma. Merissa has studied at the PARDES Institute for Jewish Studies, The Jewish Theological Seminary, The Academy for Jewish Religion, Hebrew College, Naropa University, Middlebury's Hebrew Language School, The Kohenet Hebrew Priestess Institute and with many rabbis across the country including the great Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi. Her work focuses on the inheritance of trauma and memory and how this impacts tradition.

2000-06-03 (77-minutes) – It’s been a long while since posting a dharma talk for you all, and for that I apologize. Today for our Day of Mindfulness at Deer Park Monastery, we heard this talk from June 3, 2000 at New Hamlet, Plum Village. The talk is part of the 21-Day Retreat that year with the theme of Eyes of the Buddha. For this talk, we take a deep dive into what it means to be sangha. Some of what Thay shares is for the monastic sangha, but can be equally applied to a lay community. Right out front, Thay says the very minimum number for a sangha is four people. He then proceeds to outline the steps for the Sanghakarman Procedure. From this presentation, the rest of the talk focuses on the Six Togethernesses. A real sangha must practice all six. Body. Being physically present in one place. Mindfulness Trainings Sharing. Dharma discussion. Nonverbal action. Presence. (View, insight, understanding, wisdom) Speech. Loving speech. Calm and gentle. Material resources are shared equally Happy and joyful. Synthesis of all ideas. Toward the end, Thay explains the difference between the core sangha and the extended sangha. I hope you enjoy the talk.
