The best news first - Michón got to see the kids! They are doing well, though they are naturally a little nervous about the whole situation. The woman they are staying with seems really cool and caring, so there's relief that they are in good hands, and are getting to stay together.

The other piece of good news is that Michón’s hearing has been pushed back, and ze found out that CFS will consider hir eligible to get the kids back if ze rents an AirBnB!

So we are pivoting away from the nearly impossible goal of getting hir on a lease within the next few days, to focus on fundraising to cover one to several months at an AirBnB.

Several of Michón’s friends, notably Faith— thank you, Faith!— put a huge amount of effort into carefully researching low-cost AirBnB options today, and we are honing in on a place ze can can move into by September 7th.

Michón has requested that we raise the fundraising goal by $2,000. CFS is not allowing hir to live with housemates (which is ridiculous, but there is nothing we can do about it). This is of course making it impossible for hir to take advantage of more affordable housing options. (Before this CFS nightmare began, Michón had plans to move in with a friend).

We are raising the goal to $14,000.

Our friend James Cotter, who has severe chronic health conditions and has struggled with housing, is stuck in the woods.

Been doing some research on EI/EMF/MCS safer places around the country for somebody and have found some interesting links I have bookmarked:
