The #BNO lifeboat scheme is expanded, thanks to the campaigning of #HongKongWatch. But this lifeboat will not be smooth sailing:
1) Reaching the #UK doesn't automatically guarantee safety, when #CCP is actively infiltrating the top levels of government. The scheme itself my be abused to infiltrate 🇬🇧 too.
2) Are the UK ready for #HongKongers? While the community is overwhelmingly supportive of freedom loving #HKers, there are also numerous opposing, especially as #Britain is facing a serious economic and energy crisis.

We're laughing but it's actually not funny. The simplest expression of playing a song in #HongKong is now criminal, and so are thoughts. #CCP is also moving quickly on wiping our history, renaming our schools and streets and institutions in the name of "de-colonization". Public opinion? It has no part to play.

#LizTruss is playing the #China card. Not to say that her points are invalid, but we will have to see if there will be actual action now that she is PM, and how long she could last in the position.

Also, crackdowns have been going on in #HongKong for literally years. #UK has been saying that the #SinoBritishJointDeclaration is legally binding and that #CCP has broken it, so, where's the legal action to hold them responsible? #HongKongers are very grateful for the lifeboats, but let's not pretend that's an adequate response to CCP's brutal breach of an international contract. We haven't even mentioned the atrocities in #Xinjiang and #Tibet, and military threats in #Taiwan yet.

民主派初選47人案本月27日續審，英國上星期六（18日）多處都有海外港人集會或遊行聲援同路人。其中在曼城，有港人與烏克蘭人合辦遊行，呼籲外界持續關注及抵抗中俄兩大「新邪惡軸心」，在天雨下約有250人參與，市中心交通一度受影響。有主力為烏克蘭抵抗力量籌款、伴侶為港人的前英國消防隊長表示，雖然短期內難以動搖中俄極權，但認為只要堅持必將見曙光；在遊行隊伍前方一名左跑右爬的年輕港人拿着相機「實習」，矢志在英國完成學業後回港投身新聞界。

昨日是831五週年，Birmingham HongKongers 和 West Midlands HongKonger Support CIC 在伯明翰市中心的維多利亞廣場舉行集會，悼念831事件及每位為香港的自由民主犧牲的死難者。五年來，香港人面對的恐懼和絕望有增無減，就算身在英國亦要提心吊膽。光復香港看似遙遙無期，感謝仍有約140名香港人出席集會，以行動證明我們仍然未忘初心。

「Free Hong Kong Democracy Now」是口號亦是信念。在陷入迷失的時候，讓我們一起找回信念，繼續前行。
