This song has been revived a few times (by k-pop stars and TikTok memes), but Voyage of the Rock Aliens deserves a separate note.
Jermaine Jackson was married to a daughter of Motown record label owner. Other Jacksons left but he couldn't โ he chose a wife over siblings. And so he desperately needed money.
Pia married an old producer and eventually became the only person winning Golden Globe for the best acting and Golden Raspberry for the worst acting (in the same movie). Her husband tried to push her career into a new direction and so we got both this song and the Rock Aliens musical.
Such a wannabe kind of thing ๐ But I still adore the song!
