Daily Labyrinth - February 16, 2020

Post a top-level comment with an image containing the entire labyrinth layout. Please include details like what difficulty the labyrinth layout is in, what each phase is, what trinkets can be found, and anything else you think is important.

Ramdisks, performance, and loading time in PoE amidst labyrinth controversy

**This thread isn't for discussing issues with the well-known labyrinth runner, but about performance, loading time with ramdisks.**

As someone who's been constantly annoyed with fps drops and overall performance in POE when playing Autobomber with a 9900k @ 5 ghz, 2080 ti, and 32 gb ram at 3700mhz, there's been a lot of enlightening information regarding boosting overall performance amidst the labyrinth talk.

Running POE with a ramdisk in exfat along with disabling sound effects and music in the ini file was a game changer. Everything has been buttery smooth and stuttering is almost non-existent assuming servers were doing ok. But having played POE for so long, **I've wanted to see if I can min-max the POE performance including loading time even more via settings and tweaks and not via pushing overclocks.** Defragging the ggpk file using standalone client seemed to help a lot, and been measuring load time with many lab runners that I've seen in this subreddit.

One thing that caught my attention, is this clip: https://clips.twitch.tv/DarlingPatientPeanutRalpherZ

I'm quite curious about what he means by "if you know 1 trick that i know you can save extra 5 seconds", because I've tried quite a few things to decrease loading time. For reference, I have 30-35 ping to Texas, and he has 60+ yet my loading time is still quite slow in comparison to his in labyrinth.

For the technical users of reddit, does a magic setting or tweak like this exist within realms of TOS?

Watcher's eye mod removal

I cant find anything about the mod (1-1.5)% of [Lightning Damage](https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Lightning_Damage) is Leeched as [Mana](https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Mana) while affected by [Wrath](https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Wrath) being removed from the Watcher's eye mod pool, and i cant find any on the trade sites either. Is this mod removed from the mod pool?

Let's appreciate that fact metamorph might be the first full-length league in years

Still, relatively healthy player count around the last month and there's no flashback event to steal player numbers. Usually, one league is actually two-month-long since it's borderline unplayable during the last month.

Bubonic Plague's Death Walk has every aspects of a chaos skill, yet it does fire damage... Purple Icon, Poison cloud effect, Poison skill Unique item name, Chaos skill name("Death" being used for chaos related stuff) and making it fire puts it in Abberath's fury category and it loses no matter what

Introducing TheoryCraft - Simulate any currency, essence, or fossil on any item base; track your currency spent; roll 1000 times in one click and sort the results by any mod or item property

[Overview of what it looks like and can do](https://imgur.com/a/dO1E7Bm)

[**Download it here**](https://github.com/Sectoidfodder/PoETheoryCraft/releases/tag/v0.1.0)

[Details, and things I'm looking for help with regarding crafting mechanics and in-game testing](https://github.com/Sectoidfodder/PoETheoryCraft/blob/v0.1.0/README.txt)

[Simulation accuracy tested with 2 x 100 in-game rolls and 10 x 100 simulated rolls](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cX7p2Fv_r6Af01zRGo97ENiooNzD5rqYmndKtNDFQ6o/edit?usp=sharing). Also includes 2 x 100 catalyst rolls with inconclusive results.

**Fun facts I learned while making this:**

* Several old nerfs were added as modifiers in the translation process (client-side). Voltaxic Rift, for instance, still has a conversion mod with a value of "100", but goes through a "multiply by 0.6" handle during translation from mod definition to stat line.
* There are FOUR separate sets of attack/caster tags. They can, in theory, all work independently, but fortunately for our sanity they're mostly synced.
* mod tags for fossils: "attack" and "caster"
* mod tags for catalysts: "jewellery\_attack" and "jewellery\_caster"
* item tags placed by metamods, that mods can choose to obey: "no\_attack\_mods" and "no\_caster\_mods"
* item tags placed by mods, that mods can choose to obey: "has\_attack\_mod" and "has\_caster\_mod". This last pair is for weapons so attack and caster mods tend to avoid each other.
* A mod tag for fossils is spelled "defences", plural with a "c"; another mod tag for catalysts is spelled "jewellery\_defense", singular with an "s".
* Possible bug on boots, due to some weird tagging:
* Elder's spell dodge CANNOT roll on an item with Redeemer's/Shaper's attack dodge
* Redeemer's spell dodge CAN roll on an item with Redeemer's/Shaper's attack dodge
* Redeemer's/Shaper's attack dodge CAN roll on an item with any spell dodge

**A big thanks to** [**PyPoE**](https://github.com/OmegaK2/PyPoE) **and** [**RePoE**](https://github.com/brather1ng/RePoE) **for digging through a goddamn mountain of ggpk data and translating the relevant bits into an easy-to-use format.**

Fighting Hillock in the twilight strand might be PoE's best melee experience. Can this be translated to the rest of the game?

I don't mean this to be a "lul melee iz ded. GGG hates melee lululul" meme. I was doing a "spend currency on a dumb end of league build" yesterday and while leveling the character I realized that was the most interesting melee fight I'd had in a while. And I played "melee" (dominating blow) all league.

Hillock's swings are well telegraphed and the hitbox feels very tight and fair. You're encouraged to move between attacks balancing offence with avoidance and there are no huge AoEs that you have to just haul ass out of range to avoid.

His attacks are chunky enough to be threatening (if you're not chugging flasks) but you're never one shot by them. It felt fair when I took damage. I got hit and lost 20ish percent of my HP. A solid incentive to not do it again but not so punishing that it feels BS or like I can't learn by playing.

When he goes to the 2nd stage, it's a real escalation of the fight, not just pointless immunity/HP checkpoints to be sure players can't OHKO him (not like you can at level 1 anyhow).

It's very weird to me that a prime example of engaging arpg combat is at the very beginning and then almost never seen again.
