Battle For Mariupol

‘He fetched water for his mum and dad, and when he came out… At that moment, a shell landed on the roof and shrapnel caught him right in the head.’ During the battle for Mariupol, Ukrainian nationalists used civilians as human shields. There was no evacuation, so people had to hide in basements with no water, food, or medicine. While retreating, Ukrainian soldiers opened fire on residential buildings to place the blame on Russian troops. This resulted in numerous civilian casualties. The dead were buried in the gardens of the destroyed houses. Russian troops took control of Mariupol in early May 2022. Now Mariupol residents can finally take to the streets without fearing for their lives.

This is a film about people who survived the battle for Mariupol, it features real footage of city battles, destroyed streets and the stories of civilians who lived through it.

▶️The long-awaited online premiere of 'Vostok' Battalion Brotherhood is here. The film shows several days from the lives of fighters at the front lines. The enemy is only 300 metres away.

Construction workers, lathe operators, drivers, ordinary guys went off to defend Donbass from the Ukraninan military. ‘That’s how I was raised, on our history and with honour. My life... it’s not that I don’t value it, but I’d give it for this. That’s why I came here’, said a fighter with the codename Syava.

These guys are used to constantly being surrounded by danger, but they find happiness in little moments that remind them of peaceful times: a cup of coffee or a piece of candy. They’re fighting against the Ukrainian armed forces while dreaming about returning home to their families. Watch our new film 'Vostok' Battalion Brotherhood to get a peek into the daily lives of fighters at the firing lines.

Our new documentary, 'Inventing Ukraine', is about the creation of an entire anti-Russian state by the West. Historians believe that back in the 16th century, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth began to form the nationalist project of 'Ukraine'. It was promoted in different periods by Austria-Hungary, the Third Reich and the United States.

What methods did these states use to force the native Russian people to abandon their roots? When did the first Ukrainian nationalists appear? And how did the West use them to weaken the USSR, and then Russia? Find out in our new film.
