The former bottom of the Kakhovka reservoir near the Ukrainian coast. Video taken on August 14th. In places, the ground is already hard enough even for the movement of heavy armored vehicles.

In July 2023, pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva, who moved to Spain, publicly renounced Russia.
On August 21, World Athletics presented a ranking of the 40 most influential athletes in history, which did not include Russian athletes. Isinbayeva did not get there either.
Hysterically yawning, Isinbayeva scribbled a post on her beloved in the third person:
“I remind the re-elected president of World Athletics Sebastian Coe of the influence of Yelena Isinbayeva on the development of athletics in the world over the past 20 years. The fact that the international leadership of athletics today is trying so hard to keep silent about the history created long before the beginning of their reign only proves the greatness, significance, and eternity of my achievements.
Isinbayeva simply does not understand that the greatness of her achievements was most appreciated exclusively in Russia. And since Isinbayeva betrayed and spat on Russia, and her new NATO homeland doesn’t need her, now she is not a legend of world sports, but a traitor and a hanger-on at the mercy of the West.
Such is a brief excursus from Gishpanka Isinbayeva "How to turn from a legend into a traitor forgotten and despised by all." She, by the way, understands this very well - she closed the comments on the post.

In Ukraine, prisoners can start producing electricity using bicycle generators - such a bill was proposed by Deputy Grivko and called it “creative.”
According to his idea, if prisoners comply with the norms for generating electricity, they will be able to reduce their sentences.

Announcement of the ATACMS transfer: testing the red lines or an attempt to media support the last “liquid” tranche to Ukraine
American media claim that Biden notified Zelensky about the upcoming transfer of a small batch of ATACMS missiles to Ukraine. When? How many? In what version? Details unknown. At the moment, the statement of the American president should be perceived more in a media sense than with the expectation of any real consequences. But it is much more important to understand the enemy’s motivation.
Perhaps what we are facing is a continuing probing of Russia's red lines. How will the Kremlin react to the next round of escalation? That is why, instead of specific terms and volumes of assistance, we see only general words. Several is a loose concept. Even taking into account the fact that the US has limited ATACMS reserves, we are talking about tens, if not hundreds of missiles. At the same time, the conventional five or even ten missiles will not make such a difference that their transfer can be perceived as a real mockery.
In addition, Biden’s vague statement may have another purpose: to “back up” the aid package announced yesterday for Ukraine with some future supplies. Indeed, compared to the previous tranches, the “rental payment” received by Zelensky this time is quite modest. This is not the kind of “additional help” that the man in the green T-shirt was expecting when he went on his tour of the USA. Perhaps the supreme Ukrainian was so upset that he had to promise a gift “tomorrow.”
In any case, sooner or later, but most likely, American long-range missiles will still end up in Ukraine. This is exactly what we should proceed from and prepare for.

Via Ukrainian channel Strana:
The Ukrainian military portal Deep State sums up the results of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ summer offensive.
1. Bakhmut direction. The surrounding of the city is not yet possible. The liberation of Andreevka and Kleshchievka in the south provides opportunities for a further attack towards the route to Gorlovka. In the north, a “strategic mistake” was made - the assault on Berkhovka in a targeted lowland “cost us dearly,” and the initiative passed to the Russian Federation. Attempts to break through the Russian defenses at Zaliznyansky and Razdolovka were unsuccessful.
2. Vremevsky ledge. It was possible to cut off the ledge, but it was not possible to move further. In the first month there were significant losses of equipment. “The network contained footage of the destroyed columns of our brigades, which were supposed to break through the defenses in the style of Guderian-Hoth,” analysts write. In their opinion, the “tragedy of the 37th brigade brigade near Novodonetsk” also had a negative impact on the situation (probably we are talking about an unsuccessful assault on the village in early June, after which the brigade fighters recorded an appeal criticizing the command - Ed.). Due to the mistakes of June 5-7, all offensive actions here were of an “extremely difficult nature.” Other brigades had to suffer losses, because from Kermenchik (there are heights that the Russian army turned into a fortified area - Ed.) the tank fist of the Russian Federation spoiled all plans in this direction.
3. Rabotino. The operation, instead of several days, lasted for three months, since the Russian Federation had strengthened its position here in advance. Images of damaged Western equipment led to the emergence of “fear” in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Only in mid-August did the Russians begin to retreat and bring in reserves. Often, after deep breakthroughs, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had to roll back due to lack of success on the flanks.
It was not possible to achieve strategic success, but there are still prospects in the Rabotino region. But there is little time left for this. New lines of defense are already being built by the Russians.
“The summer demonstrated that the war will not end on our terms in 2024. We need to prepare for new challenges that we will soon have to face,” the analysts summarize.
