It’s difficult to pin a number on the amount of dog breeds that exist around the globe today but however, there are some lesser-known doggies that you may have never even heard of!⠀

Today we've prepared for you the list of some of the rarest breeds.⠀

🐶 Norwegian Lundehund⠀
Due to its unusual initial environment, Norwegian Lundehund evolved to develop the perfect traits for scaling rocky cliffs: six toes on each front paw, adjustable ears, and a neck so flexible that it can crane backward to touch the spine.⠀

🐶 Otterhound⠀
Recognized for its marvelous mane of hair and entertaining essence, the hound is officially rarer than the white rhino, with less than 1,000 dogs around the world. ⠀

🐶 Lagotto Romagnolo⠀
Often mistaken as a poodle-cross, the curly-coated Lagotto Romagnolo is actually the world’s oldest water retriever.⠀

CoinDogs offer to create any kind of breed you want with their unique DNA and appearance 😉🐩

According to lots of scientific studies, dogs can really help people to deal with stress 🐶

After the latest research people decided to find out if it is true and started practicing this. And that's what we have 👇

Durham Police has a therapy dog, Ben, to help officers' mental health and trauma they experience at work. This dog will be the first Wellbeing and Trauma Support Dog.

It is hoped the calming presence of their four-legged recruit will encourage people to open up and speak about their mental health and wellbeing 😇

What do you think of it? Does your dog help you to deal with stress?

Let`s talk about Shiba Inus! 🐾
The Shiba Inu is an old Japanese breed that is a small but muscular dog that used to be a hunting companion for a long time. The energetic, good-natured Shiba has become not only Japan's most popular companion dog but also famous worldwide thanks to memes. Shibas are equally comfortable in cities and the countryside.
Shibas’ white markings, paired with red, red sesame, or black and tan coloration, alert demeanor, and graceful stride, give them an adorable, foxlike appearance. They're strong, enduring canines with confident personalities to match.

Dogs use “puppy eyes” to manipulate us
When wolves have been domesticated about 27 000 years ago, it could have gone in one of two ways. Either we have initiated it, or wolves have decided to adapt to new conditions and learn to live close to us, or maybe both are true - we don’t know for sure. What we do know is that our four-legged friends have solidified our partnership with a bit of emotional manipulation. The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) have found out that dogs’ facial anatomy has evolved over millennia, and modern dogs have something that wolves lack - strongly developed eye muscles (except for Siberian Huskies due to their close relation to wolves). When dogs see humans, they instinctively raise their eyebrows, mimicking human facial expressions. This has subconsciously made our ancestors prefer dogs who appeal to them. Just look at a poor little Corgi or Pug - it really melts your heart, doesn’t it?
