🤖 At Bulim Square in JTC’s Jurong Innovation District, Minister Desmond Lee tried his hand at tile grouting, an intricate and time-consuming task that many skilled workers carry out daily. But with Fabrica AI’s grouting robot, this meticulous task can be completed with ease and precision.

🙌 For example, a four-room flat that typically requires 2 to 5 man-hours to complete, can be done in 20 to 25 man-mins with the robot! Now, workers can be upskilled to operate these machines or redeployed to more complex, higher-value work. This raises overall productivity and job quality in the sector!

🏗️ National WSH Campaign 2025: Reporting Saves Lives

The Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council, with support from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), and Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF), launches the National WSH Campaign 2025, continuing the "Reporting Saves Lives" theme to deepen WSH excellence.

Why speak up for safety?
✔️ Identify hazards early
✔️ Reduce workplace risks
✔️ Save lives

Power up safety with the 3As:
🔍 AWARE – Stay vigilant; be risk-aware
⚖️ ASSESS – Evaluate whether work should pause if an unsafe activity is observed
ACT – Take action to make it safe

🎬 Watch the campaign video, “Brother” – a powerful story of Hasan and his older brother Rafiq that reminds us: workplace safety affects not just individuals, but their loved ones too.

Today, on International HR Day, we celebrate the people behind people, the HR professionals in the Built Environment (BE) sector. 💙

More than administrators, they are architects of culture, enablers of growth, and strategic partners in building resilient, future-ready organisations.

From aligning people strategies with business goals to nurturing meaningful career journeys, HR professionals are essential to shaping workplaces where individuals and businesses thrive.

But impactful HR doesn’t happen in silos. It takes shared ownership across leaders, managers, and employees to create environments where people feel valued, supported, and empowered.

🌟 To all who contribute to building better workplaces in the BE sector, thank you!

Curious what that looks like in action?

Today, BCA hosted a Finnish business delegation led by Minister Ville Tavio at the Built Environment Innovation Hub (BEIH) at BCA Braddell Campus.

Organised by the Finnish Embassy with BCA’s support, the visit began with a small group discussion hosted by BCA CTO Jonathan Cheng, who shared how BCA drives innovation and technology in the built environment, including efforts to establish the BEIH as a hub for test-bedding and showcasing solutions.

Following remarks by BCA Deputy CEO (Industry Development) Tan Chee Kiat and Minister Tavio, 13 Finnish firms presented their sustainability and digitalisation solutions to over 100 local participants.

The event ended with a networking lunch that explored collaboration opportunities. We look forward to more such exchanges that foster innovation and partnerships for a more productive and sustainable BE sector.
