π΅πΈ Freed Palestinian prisoner: 'I was explicitly threatened with rape'
Lama Khater, a #writer released in the sixth batch of Palestinian prisoners as part of the truce agreement, revealed that Israeli forces threatened to rape her and burn her #children. Describing the harrowing conditions, she stated: "Today, male and female prisoners are enduring what can be considered forced #starvation, in complete #isolation."
Khater describes how an Israeli solider told her that his rage would only be satisfied if he killed 50,000 children in Gaza.
Khater confirmed that at least 10 Palestinian females from the Gaza Strip were transferred to jail two days before the truce. She added that these women were arrested by Israeli forces while fleeing from northern to southern #Gaza. According to Khater, Israel seems to target mothers, forcing them to separate from their children.

Ahmed Abu Artema is a Palestinian writer and activist in Gaza. In 2019, he helped launch the Great March of Return protests. Last month, Ahmed's home in Gaza was targeted by an Israeli airstrike. He was injured, but his son Abdullah and several other members of his family were killed.
Ahmed sent us this audio recording with his call for the international community to end Israel's genocidal assault on Gaza.

A journalist and a novelist, Kanafani also produced #drawings and #paintings. Much like his writings, his artworks also address the Palestinian cause and the suffering of its people, depicting figurative and partially abstract Palestinian refugees using pale, expressive colors. Also, his works include cityscapes and Arabic #Calligraphy that also endorse the right of freedom for his native country. On July 8, 1972, Kanafani was murdered by a bomb planted in his car by Israelβs #Mossad spy agency in Beirut, where he is buried. Considered one of the most important Palestinian writers, his works were translated in into 17 languages and published in more than 20 countries.

The Israelis claimed the assassination was a response to the Lod Airport attack two months earlier, although Kanafani had played no direct role in this.
