🇵🇸 UN Women: ‘Seven women are killed every two hours’
Natalia Kanem, executive director of UN Women, said two mothers are killed every hour and seven women are killed every two hours during a briefing about Gaza on Wednesday.
Kanem noted that 67 percent of the more than 14,000 people killed in Gaza are estimated to be women and children, as opposed to 14 percent before 7 October.

"#Children who manage to survive the war are likely to see their lives irrevocably altered through repeated exposure to traumatic events. The violence and upheaval around them can induce toxic stress that interferes with their physical and cognitive development. Even before this latest escalation, more than 540,000 children in #Gaza half of its entire child population – were identified as needing #MentalHealth and psychosocial support."

Geneva – Israel is obligated to disclose the whereabouts of the nearly 3,000 Palestinian #civilians—including #children as well as dozens of women—it has kidnapped from homes and shelter centres, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said in a statement urging the international community to put pressure on Israel to end its policy of enforced #disappearance.
According to information received by Euro-Med Monitor, over the past few days the Israeli army has been detaining hundreds of Palestinians in the #SheikhRadwan neighbourhood in Gaza City. Among them are dozens of #women who were taken to #YarmoukStadium, where they had their veils removed and were searched by soldiers. Many of them also endured explicit #abuse, #beatings, and #harassment.
