+ቅዱስ በብኑዳ በ3ኛው መቶ ክ/ዘመን አካባቢ በምድረ
ግብፅ ተባሕትዎን መርጦ የሚኖር ገዳማዊ አባት ነው::
በበርሃ
በጾምና በጸሎት ተወስኖ ለእግዚአብሔር የምስጋናን
መስዋዕት እየሠዋ አገልግሏል::

+በዘመነ ሰማዕታት ክርስቲያኖች በግፍ ሲገደሉ ቅዱሱ
ሰው በበርሃ ውስጥ ነበር:: አንድ ቀን የእግዚአብሔር
መልአክ መጥቶ
ሰማዕት እንዲሆን መከረው:: እርሱም ነጭ በነጭ ለብሶ
አምሮበት ወደ ንጉሡ ሔደ:: በፊቱም ቀርቦ በክርስቶስ
ስም ታመነ::
ብዙ ጸዋትወ መከራም ተቀበለ::

+ንጉሡ (መኮንኑ) "አመጣጥህ ወደ ሞት ሳለ ምነው
እንዲህ እንደ ሠርገኛ ማጌጥህ?" ቢለው "እኛ
ክርስቲያኖች ትልቁ
ሠርጋችን ሞታችን ነው:: ልንሔድ ከክርስቶስም ጋር
ልንኖር እንናፍቃለንና" ብሎታል::

+ቅዱስ በብኑዳ ብዙ ተሰቃይቶ: ተአምራትን ሰርቶ በዚሕች
ቀን ተሰይፏል:: የጽድቅን አክሊል ከሰማዕትነት ጋር ደርቦ
አግኝቷል::

✞✞✞On this day we commemorate the departure of the Righteous Martyr Saint Babnuda (Paphnute)✞✞✞

✞✞✞In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, one God. Amen!✞✞✞

✞✞✞Babnuda (Paphnute) the Martyr✞✞✞
=>St. Babnuda was a monastic father that chose the ascetic life and lived in the 3rd century in the land of Egypt. He served in the desert devoted to fasting and prayer offering praise to God.

✞During the Era of Persecution when Christians were brutally being slaughtered the Saint was in the desert. One day an angel of the Lord came to him and advised him to become a martyr. Hence, he clothed himself in white and went to the governor. He stood before him and testified the name of Christ. And he received much affliction.  

✞And when the governor asked the martyr, “While you have come to die, why are you adorned in such a way like a Groom?” the Saint replied, “For us Christians our death is our ultimate nuptials because we desire to depart and live with Christ.”

✞St. Babnuda was slain on this day after enduring many afflictions and performing several miracles. He has received the crowns of righteousness and martyrdom together.

✞✞✞May the Good God grant us from the Martyr’s blessings.

††† ሐዋርያው ቅዱስ ብሩታዎስ በሐዲስ ኪዳን የመጀመሪያው የውዳሴ ማርያም ደራሲ ነው::
ይህስ እንደምን ነው ቢሉ:-
ጌታችን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በፈቃዱ ሙቶ ከተነሳ ከ8 ዓመታት በኋላ ቅዱስ ጳውሎስ ሐዋርያ ያምናል:: ባመነ በ6 ዓመቱ (ማለትም ከክርስቶስ ዕርገት 14 ዓመታት በኋላ) እየሰበከ ግሪክ አቴና /ATHENS/ ደርሶ ብዙ ፈላስፎችን ወደ ክርስትና ሲያመጣ አንዱ ይህ ቅዱስ ብሩታዎስ ነበር::

ቅዱስ ብሩታዎስ በክርስቶስ አምኖ: ተጠምቆ: ሐዋርያትን ተከትሏቸው: እነሱም ቅስና ሹመውታል:: ጵጵስና እንሹምህ ቢሉት በፊታቸው ተንበርክኮ አልቅሷል:: አይገባኝም ማለቱ ነበር::

ታዲያ ቅዱስ ብሩታዎስ ሐዋርያት ስለ ድንግል እመቤታችን ሲጨዋወቱ እየሰማ "መቼ አይቻት" እያለ በፍቅሯ ይቃጠል ነበር:: አንዴ ግን ወሰነ:: "እመቤቴን ሳላያት እንቅልፍ አላይም" ብሎ በሽማግሌ እግሮቹ ከግሪክ ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም ተጓዘ::

የሚገርመው እርሱ እሥራኤል (ጽርሐ ጽዮን) የደረሰው በ49 ዓ/ም ጥር 21 ቀን እመቤታችን ልታርፍ ሰዓታት ሲቀራት ነበር:: ቅዱሱ ሽማግሌ እመቤታችንን በአካለ ሥጋ ስላያት በፊቷ እንደ እንቦሳ ዘለለ:: እየሰገደም አመሰገናት:: እመ ብርሃንም በንጹሐት እጆቿ ባረከችውና ዐረፈች::

ይሕን ጊዜ ምሥጢር ተገልጦለት ዜማና ቅኔ ያለውን የመጀመሪያውን ውዳሴ ማርያም ዕለቱኑ ደርሶ ለሐዋርያት ሰጣቸው:: እነርሱም ከምስጋናው ጣዕም የተነሳ ተደነቁ:: ከሐዘናቸውም ተጽናኑ::

ይሕ ድርሰት በዘመነ ሰማዕታት በመጥፋቱ ቅዱስ ኤፍሬም ሶርያዊ አምልቶና አጉልቶ ደርሶታል::

ቅዱስ ብሩታዎስ ግን ብዙ ሃገራትን በሐዋርያነት አዳርሶ በመልካም ሽምግልና አርፏል::

††† ጌታችን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በቅዱስ ብሩታዎስ ላይ ያሳደረውን የድንግል እናቱን ፍቅር በእኛም ላይ ያሳድርብን::

✞✞✞On this day we commemorate the departure of the Saint Hierotheos (Berutawos) of Athens✞✞✞

✞✞✞Saint Hierotheos (Berutawos)✞✞✞
=>The Apostle St. Hierotheos was the first Theotokia (Hymns to Mary) author in the Era of the New Testament. If asked how that was, it was as follows.

✞8 years after our Lord Jesus Christ died by His own will and rose, St. Paul the Apostle believed. And 6 years after he converted (14 years after the ascension of Christ), he converted many philosophers to Christianity when he went preaching to Greek, Athens. And one of the converts was this Saint, Hierotheos. 

✞After St. Hierotheos believed in Christ and was baptized, he followed the Apostles. And they ordained him a priest. Thereafter, when they asked to appoint him a Bishop, he wept kneeling before them. It was him saying, “Certainly not”.

✞St. Hierotheos used to burn with the love for our Lady, the Virgin, saying, “When will I see her?” when he used to hear the Apostles discuss about her. And one day he decided. He said, “I will not sleep until I see my Lady” and went from Greek to Jerusalem with his aged legs.

✞What was amazing was that, he reached Israel (at the Upper Room) on Tir 21 (January 29) in 49 E.C (57 A.D) only hours before our Lady departed. The elderly Saint leaped in joy like a calf before our Lady because he saw her in the flesh (physically). He praised her with prostrations. And our Lady blessed him with her pure hands and departed.

✞At that moment, a mystery was revealed to him and he authored the first Theotokia that had melody and was poetic. He then gave it to the Apostles and they were amazed of the tang of the hymn and were consoled of their grief.

✞Because this hymn was lost during the Era of Persecution, St. Ephraim the Syrian wrote it later wholly and with greater emphasis.

✞St. Hierotheos departed in good old age after having reached many countries as an apostle.

✞✞✞May our Lord Jesus Christ indwell in us the love for the Virgin, His mother, which dwelt in St. Hierotheos.
