=>ማዕዶት ማለት (ዐደወ-ተሻገረ) ከሚል የግእዝ ግስ የተወረሰ ሲሆን በጥሬው "መሻገር" ማለት ነው:: ይሕም በደመ ክርስቶስ ተቀድሰን: በትንሳኤውም ድኅነት ተደርጐልን መከራን: መርገምን: የኃጢአትን ባሕር: አንድም ባሕረ እሳትን መሻገራችንን ያመለክታል::

+ጌታችን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በከበረ ደሙ
*ከባርነት ወደ ነጻነት
*ከጨለማ ወደ ብርሃን
*ከሞት ወደ ሕይወት
*ከኃጢአት ወደ ጽድቅ

+ጌታችን ምርኮን ማርኮ: ጥጦስ መንገድ ጠራጊ ሆኖለት ወደ ገነት ሲያስገባቸው ለድንግል ማርያም አሳይቷታል:: እመ አምላክም በፍጹም ልቧ ደስ ተሰኝታለች:: አዳምና ልጆቹ እመቤታችንን ከላይ ሆነው እጅ ነስተዋታል:: እርሷ የድኅነታቸው ምክንያት ናትና::

††† በስመ አብ ወወልድ ወመንፈስ ቅዱስ አሐዱ አምላክ አሜን! †††

††† አባ መክሲሞስ ሊቀ ዻዻሳት †††

††† "ዻዻስ" ማለት "አባት - መሪ - እረኛ" ማለት ነው:: በቅድስት ቤተ ክርስቲያን አስተምሕሮ በሐዲስ ኪዳን የመንፈሳዊ ስልጣን ደረጃዎች በጥቅሉ 3 ናቸው:: እነሱም
*ዲቁና:
*ቅስና:
*ዽዽስና ሲሆኑ በሥራቸው ወደ 9 ያህል ክፍሎች አላቸው:: ከእነዚህም ከፍተኛው ስልጣን ዽዽስና ነው::

ዽዽስና ማለት የክርስቶስን መንጋ እንደ ባለቤቱ አድርጐ መጠበቅ ማለት ነው:: ሥልጣኑ በምድር "ሸክም" : "ዕዳ" ሲሆን በሰማይ ግን "ክብር" ነው:: ማንም በሥጋው ላይ ካልጨከነ በቀር ዽዽስናን አይመኝም::

ቅዱስ ዻውሎስ "ሠናየ ግብረ ፈተወ - ማንም ዽዽስናን ቢመኝ መልካም ሥራን ተመኘ" (1ጢሞ. 3:1) ማለቱን ይዞ "ሹሙኝ" ማለት ወደ ማይጠፋ እሳት የሚያስጥል ከባድ ውሳኔ ነው:: ምክንያቱም አንድ ክርስቲያን የሚጠየቅ በራሱ ኃጢአት ሲሆን አንድ ካህን ደግሞ ስለ ልጆቹ ይጠየቃል:: የከፋው ግን የዻዻሱ ነው::

አንድ ዻዻስ ቢጾም ቢጸልይም እንኩዋ ለድኅነቱ በቂ አይደለም:: ምክንያቱም በመንበሩ ላይ ያስቀመጠው መንጋውን እንጂ ራሱን እንዲያድን አይደለምና:: ጌታ እንዳለ መልካም እረኛ "ይሜጡ ነፍሶ ቤዛ አባግኢሁ - መልካሙ እረኛ ስለ በጐቹ ቤዛ ራሱን አሳልፎ የሚሰጥ ነው::" (ዮሐ. 10) ስለዚህም ክህነት (ዽዽስና) ሐዋርያዊ አገልግሎት: ከባድም ኃላፊነት ነው::

አባቶቻችን ሐዋርያትና ተከታዮቻቸው ሐዋርያውያን ታላላቅ የዽዽስና መንበሮችን መሥርተው: ትምሕርቱን ከነ ወንበሩ አስተላልፈዋል:: ከእነዚህ መንበረ ዽዽስናዎች 4ቱ የበላይ ናቸው::

*የቅዱስ ዮሐንሱ የአንጾኪያ:
*የቅዱስ ማርቆሱ የእስክንድርያና

እነዚህ መንበሮችም ከክርስቶስ ዕርገት እስከ 443 (451) ዓ/ም {ጉባኤ ኬልቄዶን} ድረስ በአንድነት ቆይተው ተለያይተዋል:: ከእነዚህ መናብርት መካከል የእስክንድርያው (የግብጹ) እና የአንጾኪያው (የሶርያው) ዛሬም ድረስ በተዋሕዶ እምነት የጸኑ ናቸው::

የእኛ ቤተ ክርስቲያንም ሐዋርያዊት እንደ መሆኗ ሐዋርያትን መስለው: ሐዋርያትን አህለው የተነሱ አበው ዻዻሳትን በየጊዜው በበዓላት ታስባለች: ታከብራለች::

በተለይ ደግሞ የእስክንድርያና የአንጾኪያ በርካታ አባቶችን እናከብራለን:: እነርሱ ለቀናች ሃይማኖትና ለመንጋው ሲሉ ብዙ መከራን በአኮቴት ተቀብለዋልና:: ከእነዚህም መካከል አንዱ አባ መክሲሞስ ነው::

አባ መክሲሞስ የእስክንድርያ (ግብጽ) 15ኛ ፓትርያርክ ሲሆን በ3ኛው መቶ ክ/ዘመን ቤተ ክርስቲያንን ለ15 ዓመታት አገልግሏል:: ቅዱሱ ከልጅነቱ ጀምሮ ምስጢረ ሃይማኖትን የተማረ ሲሆን መናኝ ሰው እንደ ነበርም ይነገርለታል::

በደቀ መዝሙርነትም ለአባ ያሮክላ (13ኛው ሊቀ ዻዻሳት) እና ለአባ ዲዮናስዮስ (14ኛው ሊቀ ዻዻሳት) በትህትና አገልግሏል:: ዲቁናና ቅስና ሹመት ያገኘውም በዚህ ጊዜ ነው::

ፓትርያርክ ሆኖ ከተመረጠ በሁዋላም ምዕመናንን በአፍም : በመጣፍም ብሎ አስተምሯል:: በዚህም መንጋውን ከተኩላ የመጠበቅ ተግባርን ከውኗል:: በተለይ ደግሞ ዓለማቀፍ መናፍቃን የሆኑትን ማኒንና ሳምሳጢን ተዋግቷል:: ትግሉም ተሳክቶ መናፍቃኑ ተወግዘዋል::

ቅዱሱ አባት አባ መክሲሞስ (ማክሲሙስ) ከዚህም የሚበልጥ ብዙ በጐ ሥራ ሠርቶ በበጐ ዕረፍት በዚህች ቀን ዐርፏል::

✞✞✞On this day we commemorate the departure of Abba Maximus the 15th Archbishop of Alexandria✞✞✞

✞✞✞In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, one God. Amen!✞✞✞

✞✞✞Abba Maximus the Archbishop✞✞✞
=>The word bishop has the meaning father, leader or shepherd. According to the teachings of the Church, in the New Testament, there are generally 3 spiritual ranks of authority. And they are the deacon, priest and bishop. They in-turn have, in total, 9 subdivisions under them. And from these, the highest rank is that of the bishop. 

✞Being a bishop means protecting Christ’s flock as He did. This authority, on earth, is “a burden, a debt” but in heaven, it is “glory”. Thence, no one wants the episcopate unless he wishes to be austere unto his flesh.

✞Taking what St. Paul has said, “If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work” 1Tim. 3:1 at face value and saying “Ordain me” is a hard choice that will get one thrown into an un-quenching fire. And that is because a Christian will be asked for his/her sins but a priest will be asked for his and his spiritual children’s. Nonetheless, the highest accountability is that of the bishop’s.

✞Even if one bishop fasts and prays, it will not be enough for his salvation. This is because He [God] has put him on the See to keep his flock and not himself [alone]. As the Lord had said, “the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep” (John 10:11). Therefore, the priesthood, being a bishop, is an apostolic commission that comes with a huge responsibility.

✞Our fathers, the apostles and their disciples, established great bishopric Sees, and passed their teachings with the cathedrae.  And from these Sees of the Bishops, 4 are elevated.

✞They are
- St. Peter’s the See of Rome,
- St. John’s the See of Antioch,
- St. Mark’s the See of Alexandria and
- St. Paul’s the See of Ephesus.

✞These Sees have stayed together after the ascension of Christ until the Council of Chalcedon in the year 443 E.C. (451A.D.) but then they separated. And from them, the Alexandrian (Egypt’s) and the Antiochian (Syrian) Sees are intact to this day with their Miaphysite (Tewahedo) faith.

✞And as our Church is also an Apostolic one, It remembers and commemorates, the bishops that rose and were like the apostles in their deeds on their respective feast days.  

✞We, particularly, honor many fathers from Alexandria and Antioch. And that is because they have endured with gratitude for the upright faith and the flock many trials. And one of these fathers whom we commemorate is St. Maximus.

✞Abba Maximus was the 15th Patriarch of Alexandria (Egypt) and served the Church for 15 years in the 3rd century.  The Saint was learned in the mysteries of the Church from childhood and it is said that he was an acetic man.

✞He has also served Abba Heraclas (the 13th Patriarch) and Abba Dionysius (the 14th Patriarch) in humility being their disciple. And he was ordained a deacon and a priest at that time.

✞And after he was elected Patriarch, he taught the faithful with sermons and writings. And with that he did the work of keeping the flock from wolves. Particularly he fought with the international heretics Mani and Paul of Samosata.  And he was successful in his fight and the heretics were anathematized/excommunicated.

✞The Saintly Father, Abba Maximus, departed peacefully on this day after doing many greater good works.

✞✞✞May the God of the Saints give us a shepherd that is compassionate towards his flock. And may He grant us from the blessings of the Saint.

+በተለይ በከበረ ትንሳኤ የምናገኛትን መንግስተ ሰማያት በስሙ (የአብርሃም ርስት ተብላ) ተጠርታለችና አባታችን በዚህ ቀን ይታሰባል::

=>As the days of Passion Week had names and mysteries related to them so do the days in the week after resurrection. They have names and mysteries related to them as well.

✝️We have seen yesterday that the Church commemorates Monday as “Ma’edot/Crossing-over”. And Tuesday, which is today, the Church commemorates as “Thomas” and also as “Abraham”.  

1. +*"❇️Thomas❇️ "*+
=>He was one of the 12 Apostles but as he was from the Sadducees, those who did not believe in the resurrection of the dead, he doubted the Resurrection of Christ. However, the mystery behind him saying, “I will not believe if I do not see or touch” was the depth of his love [for Christ] which made the resurrection seem unreal to him.

✝️Also it was to show that the Lord had willed it that he touch His side. This hand of St. Thomas is still existent and does miracles.

2. +*"❇️Abraham❇️ "*+
=>Our father Abraham, who is one of the righteous of the Old Testament, for his sanctity was called a Patriarch as our Lord Jesus Christ while the Creator of Abraham loved to be called the Son of Abraham.

✝️Particularly, since the Heavenly Kingdom which we will receive through a glorious resurrection is titled in his name (as Abraham’s Inheritance), our father is commemorated on this day. 

=>May God endow us from the grace and blessings of the two great Saints.
