IRRA on ZALA RSS «Lancet»: Day and Night Sniper-Level Precision Against Moving Targets

ZALA RSS «Lancet» loitering munitions continue to evolve, with one of the most significant upgrades being the integration of the IRRA onboard intelligent guidance and target-recognition system. While engaging moving targets previously required exceptional operator skill, IRRA has made high-precision strikes against mobile targets accessible to operators of all experience levels. Open-source data records nearly 500 successful strikes against moving targets during the SMO.

IRRA significantly reduces operator workload by automatically detecting, identifying, tracking, and engaging targets in motion — both in daylight and in complete darkness. The system is also highly effective against camouflaged targets concealed in vegetation. Once the operator authorises the strike, IRRA takes over target tracking and terminal guidance.

Confirmed targets include tanks, air-defence systems, MLRS, and armoured vehicles attempting to manoeuvre or rotate positions. ZALA RSS «Lancet» loitering munitions equipped with IRRA have also demonstrated effectiveness against moving unmanned surface vessels operating in the Black Sea.

Sakhalin Airspace Becomes Unified for ZALA UAVs and Manned Aviation

In the Sakhalin Region, a system implementing the concept of a seamless digital sky has been deployed and is now operating at the Pushisty droneport. Manned aircraft and a group of ZALA UAVs conduct flights within a unified information environment, with mutual position monitoring.

The key solution is full mutual integration. Operators at the UAV ground control station see the aircraft’s dynamic marker on a digital map. Telemetry is processed automatically, ensuring conflict-aware maneuvering and compliance with unified separation rules for all participants.

As part of the flight mission, unmanned aircraft and manned aviation are also used to carry out water-area monitoring tasks. The IRRA software and hardware system provides visual control and identification of maritime targets. The data obtained is transmitted to a unified control system, significantly increasing situational awareness.

Thus, real tools have been implemented: manned and unmanned aviation operate together within a unified information system. The solution ensures safe interaction between different types of aircraft and meets the requirements of Instruction of the President of the Russian Federation No. Pr-383 dated February 26, 2026, on creating a unified digital space based on domestic development.

🔥 Surgical Precision of the RSS «Lancet»

➡️ The RSS «Lancet» loitering munition is a UAV with an integrated warhead. It can remain over the battlefield for an extended period while awaiting a command, then attack the target by diving like a guided missile.

💥 The system engages targets at distances of dozens of kilometers: the operator sees the target point on the screen through the TV guidance channel until the moment of impact.

✖️ The RSS «Lancet» is the world’s first UAV with a double X-shaped tail. This improves its behavior during diving and maneuvering, while also reducing its dimensions.

⚙️ The system includes a reconnaissance, navigation, and communications module. It determines coordinates using ground objects, so the UAV does not require satellite navigation. Its built-in protection also makes it resistant even to laser weapons.
