Some proponents of maintaining SDF control over the region still believe that the uprising is not truly local but rather a conspiracy engineered by the Syrian government and Iran. It may be true that the Syrian government and Iran have provided support to these tribal rebels, and some of the participants and supporters of the uprising may be supporters of the Syrian government and Iran, but that does not mean that the uprising is not truly local.
