Chunki yaxshi iqtisodchi faqat yangi g‘oyalarni taklif qilmaydi. U siyosat amalda qanday ishlayotganini ham tekshiradi, tizimdagi kichik nosozliklarni topadi va ularni tuzatishga harakat qiladi.
Ester Dufloning ushbu tadqiqoti bilan quyidagi havola orqali tanishishingiz mumkin.

Yangi videomizda fransuz iqtisodchisi Tomas Pikettyning iqtisodiy tengsizlik haqidagi mashhur qarashlarini ko‘rib chiqamiz.
Va eng qiziq savol: kelajakda insonning moliyaviy farovonligini uning mehnati emas, balki meros bo‘lib qolgan kapital belgilashi mumkinmi?

Aksiz ayrim mahsulotlarga, masalan, 🚬 sigaret, 🍷 alkogol va ⛽ yoqilg‘iga qo‘llanadigan maxsus soliq.
Uning asosiy maqsadlari:
🚬 zararli mahsulotlar iste’molini kamaytirish
Qiziq tomoni aksizni odatda kompaniya to‘lasa-da, uning katta qismi mahsulot narxi orqali xaridorga yuklanadi.
Lekin savol tug‘iladi: agar bu mahsulotlar zararli bo‘lsa, nega davlat ularni butunlay taqiqlamaydi?
Javob keyingi videoda!
Obuna bo‘lishni unutmang!

Yangi O'zbekiston Universitetida bo'lib o'tgan uchrashuv men va talabalar uchun ancha manfaatli bo'ldi deb o'ylayman. Tayyorlanish uchun o'zimni bosib o'tgan yo'lim va ish jarayonim haqida ancha mulohaza qilishimga to'g'ri keldi. Namoyish tadqiqot jarayonidagi eng muhim bosqich - yaxshi g'oyalarni topish haqida bo'ldi. Ba'zilarga foydasi tegadi deb slaydlarni shu yerda ulashib qo'yaman.

🚬 Agar mahsulot zararli bo‘lsa, nega davlat uni taqiqlamaydi?
Chunki to‘liq taqiq ba’zan qora bozor, kontrabanda va noqonuniy savdoni kuchaytirishi mumkin. Shuning uchun davlat ko‘pincha boshqa yo‘lni tanlaydi: soliq, nazorat va cheklovlar.⚖️
Aksiz orqali davlat:
💰 budjetga daromad oladi
📉 zararli mahsulotlar iste’molini kamaytirishga harakat qiladi
🌱 ijtimoiy va ekologik xarajatlarni qoplashga hissa qo‘shadi
🔎 noqonuniy savdoni nazorat qiladi
Lekin aksizning kamchiliklari ham bor u kam daromadli aholiga nisbatan kuchliroq ta’sir qilishi mumkin.
Xo‘sh, aksiz haqiqatan ham samarali siyosatmi?
Videoda batafsil tushuntiramiz.▶️

Our ninth Friday Talk turned out to be the longest one in the series so far. Nobody seemed to mind, because it was that engaging.
Huge thanks to Humoyun Abdumavlon, PhD Candidate in Economics at the University of Pittsburgh, for a session that went well beyond the usual overview. Instead of just describing what PhD research looks like, he showed us how it actually works:
→ How to brainstorm research ideas, and where good ones really come from
→ A live stress-test, where participants put their own ideas to the test the way researchers do
→ The nuances of academic publishing that nobody explains until you're in it
Participants didn't just listen, they tried the process themselves, which is exactly what makes an idea stick.
And thank you to everyone who joined, brought questions, and made the Q&A genuinely good.

YESU Friday Talks · Episode 10
What Actually Helps Children: Economics Meets Early Development
Rohen Shah is a Faculty Lecturer in Economics at Yale, working on a question that matters everywhere, including Uzbekistan: of all the things a society could spend on to help children develop, which ones actually work, and how do we know?
He got here the hard way, from math tutor to research under John List and Ariel Kalil at the University of Chicago, two leading figures in experimental economics and early childhood research.
On Friday, he'll show how economists use experiments to separate what sounds good from what's actually been proven to work:
💰 Join us if you're into development economics, education and social policy, or how research shapes real decisions.
