It's increasingly necessary for Russia to achieve a breakthrough somewhere within October. Here's why:

1_ the number of volunteers joining the Russian Army as professional soldiers has dropped significantly over the last 4 months, the massive wave of men motivated by patriotism and good money is long gone, there are still men joining but we are far below the initial numbers. This means the first large mobilization since the beginning of the SMO might become a necessity in the short term.

2_ The Russian balance deficit is growing proportionally to the costs of financing such a huge professional army and the defence sector as a whole which now amounts to more than 10% of GDP.

3_ the Russian people are requesting a shift from the current attrition war to a fast victory with all means at Moscow's disposal, the Russian authorities are increasingly pressured to change strategy and implent tougher, more decisive, measures.
