Journalist donates photos to pamphlet on the SMO

The Workers Party caught up with Dean O’Brien about his trips to Donbas, and his contributions to the Workers Party pamphlet on the Special Military Operation.

Dean contributed the cover image for Ukraine War: Progress of the Special Military Operation and a center spread of photographs which have been reproduced in full colour.

The party places on record its gratitude to Dean for his ongoing support and recommends readers to follow him on Telegram.

In addition to Dean’s photos, our latest pamphlet on the war in the Ukraine updates readers with two recent pieces of analysis.

Former British Ambassador Peter Ford and one of our latest #WorkersPartyGB members and activists states that #NATO in Vilnius has more or less guaranteed that the conflict will continue indefinitely.

Russia would never go for a botched peace like the Minsk accord in 2014.

Reflections on a missed opportunity

Unite is a union led by reps and members. It was these reps delegated to the conference who voted to remain with Labour, one can assume many were influenced or reassured by the General Secretary, Sharon Graham’s statement in support of continued affiliation. We can be disappointed, but should not be surprised. Many workers remain wedded to the Labour Party, through history, culture, family and a single-minded hatred of Tories elevated to a point of principle. The Union leadership, which is made up of many with direct links or personal affiliations to the Labour Party, have certainly allowed reps and members to be critical of Labour but that discussion is within the framework that it remains in the best interests of the union to remain linked.

FT reports that Lockheed "now expects earnings of $27 to $27.20 a share on revenue of $66.25bn to $66.75bn this year, up from prior guidance...

Revenue and earnings in the second quarter rose from a year earlier, helped by a 17 per cent boost in sales in its aeronautics segment, which houses the F-35. The group’s order backlog hit a record $158bn."

The weapons companies are doing very well but British corporate insolvencies rose by an annual rate of 27 per cent in June as businesses struggled with rising costs and a slowing economy, according to official figures published on Tuesday.

The number of registered company insolvencies in England and Wales in June was 2,163, sharply up from 1,698 in the same month last year, data published by the Insolvency Service showed.

Small and medium sized businesses and their workers are going under for Ukraine.
Sir Kid Starver: Labour’s Refusal to Tackle Child Poverty
by Paul Knaggs

In a political landscape dominated by grand promises and ambitious rhetoric, the Labour Party finds itself once again entangled in a thorny dilemma, one that has earned its leader, Sir Keir Starmer, a rather unflattering moniker – “Sir Kid Starver.” The source of this derisive nickname lies in the party’s refusal to address a contentious policy: the two-child benefits cap, which has been criticized for plunging families into poverty.

The cap, first introduced in 2013 and followed by the two-child limit in 2017, places a ceiling on the amount of benefits a household can receive if they have little or no income. Consequently, thousands of households and over 100,000 children have been affected, leaving them struggling to afford basic necessities such as food, clothing, and heating.

#Britain, #France and #Germany have already paid a hefty price over the #NATO proxy war with #Russia.

Protestors in France have been brutally repressed over it, not that you’d know from #MSM and social media censorship.

Are other western European countries going to rise up? 🤔

🇪🇺💶 Europeans are becoming poorer

The WSJ reports that Europeans are facing a new economic reality as their purchasing power is gradually melting away.

While inflation is rising in the EU, wages are stagnant, if not declining.

Italy, Spain and Greece have seen their average annual wages decline, while the UK, France and Germany have seen wages rise by only a few thousand dollars.

George agrees with Nigel Farage on #Brexit, #Iraq and little else, but he does support him over the #Coutts debacle.

40% of NatWest, the parent group of Coutts, is still in public ownership after British tax-payers bailed them out.

It’s a joke the idea of the banks, of all people, being the moral arbiter of value when they are the very same people and institutions that brought us to the brink of ruin, and almost destroyed our economy.

David Clews @UnityNewsNet points out the debates No2Nato are having on social media are not happening on British state or mainstream media.

He posits If people really got a sniff of what’s really happening on Ukraine, public support for the establishment narrative would collapse.
