'Energy regulator Ofgem has confirmed a 54 percent rise in bills, amounting to nearly £2,000 a year for a typical household.'
Ofgem isn't a 'regulator', it is facilitating a cartel. Monopoly leads to price-setting for monopoly superprofits. The only answer in the short term is nationalisation and running the sector as a public service not a money-making machine.
The only answer in the long term is to do that with the whole economy.
