“I think about what it means that a baby could be targeted like that, in his home, in his sleep. I think about every single child in Gaza and the West Bank and every single mother that goes to sleep not knowing if they are going to wake up the next morning. And that is the reality that Palestinians live with. We’ve seen repeated fire bombings of Palestinian homes, mosques and communities in the West Bank by settlers who act with near total impunity, including a settler from Brooklyn, Baruch Goldstein, who in 1994 opened fire on Palestinians praying in the Hebron Mosque in the West Bank and killed dozens of people while their heads were toward the ground. Brooklyn born and raised, just like so many of the Zionists who attack me, who spread violence and hate about me.”

“This assassination plot against me did not happen in a vacuum. It is a product of decades of organized violence, harassment, and dehumanization by a Zionist network,” Nerdeen told Mondoweiss in a recent interview.“ From the Jewish Defense League bombing of Alex Odeh’s office in 1985, whose killers still roam free, to settler firebombings in the West Bank like the murder of Ali Dawabsheh, and the intimidation, bounties, and attacks by Betar and other extremist groups here in the United States.”

This morning the war criminal Donald Trump issued a genocidal threat against Iran on social media, writing, “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.” This alone qualifies as a crime against humanity.

In response, the Iranian masses have formed human chains to defend and protect bridges, power plants and other critical infrastructure.

Like in Gaza, Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen, the U.S. empire and the zionist entity have manufactured genocide across the region, aided by Arab normalizing regimes that host and protect U.S. military bases.

Today, Iran stands against U.S. imperialism and the zionist entity, as it is defending its people, safeguarding its sovereignty, and sacrificing everything for the liberation of all our people in Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, and beyond.

The price of this stance, maintained since the victorious Islamic Revolution that overthrew the U.S.-backed Shah, has been sanctions and war imposed by the very forces responsible for manufacturing genocide in Palestine.

As the U.S.–“israeli” aggression continues, thousands of Iranians have been martyred, as schools, mosques, churches, and synagogues are targeted by the U.S. and the zionist entity. Gaza remains under relentless bombardment, while southern Lebanon faces ongoing invasion and daily massacres.

As Trump continues to threaten Iran’s infrastructure and its people, we are reminded that Iran’s rich history and civilization spans thousands of years. In contrast, the U.S. was built on genocide, slavery and oppression and is the only country in history to ever use nuclear weapons.

We Remember Hiroshima. We remember Nagasaki. We remember all those who have resisted U.S. & zionist terror. And until all our people have broken free from the grip of empire, the global struggle against imperialism will continue.

NEVER FORGET DEIR YASSIN! — Today we join Palestinians around the world in honoring the martyrs of the Deir Yassin Massacre which took place 78 years ago on April 9th, 1948.

On that day, the zionist “Irgun” and “Lehi” terrorist militias raided the village of Deir Yassin outside of Al-Quds under the command of future israeli prime minister Menachim Begin with a pre-mediated plan to carry out mass murder. The zionist forces proceeded to terrorize and massacre over two hundred and fifty Palestinians, the majority of whom were women, children, and the elderly.

It was Deir Yassin and dozens of other massacres like it in 1948 and in the years that followed that accelerated the Nakba and the ethnic cleansing of roughly 1 million Palestinians from their homes and lands.

Reflecting on how terrorism was used by zionist forces to ethnically cleanse Palestine in the spring of 1948 during the Nakba, Menachim Begin later wrote in 1951, "Without what was done at Deir Yassin there would not have been a state of israel."

Just over one month after the Deir Yassin Massacre, the zionity entity declared its “independence.”

One photo of the destruction of Deir Yassin (pictured here), shows cactus plants riddled with bullets. Through the generations, the prickly pear cactus plant, "sabr" (which also means patience), came to symbolize Sumud, or Palestinian steadfastness and resilience.

From Palestine to Lebanon to Iran, the zionist entity with full backing from the U.S. continues to carry out the genocide of our people and destruction of our homelands. Just yesterday, “israel” massacred over 300 Lebanese and wounded over 1,000 more. In Gaza, occupation forces assassinated journalist Mohammed Washah in an airstrike that targeted his vehicle west of Gaza City and continue to carry out attacks despite the facade of a “ceasefire.”

Every massacre carried out by the occupation, from Beirut to Beit Lahia, can be traced back to the Nakba, to Deir Yassin.

In the words of Palestinian writer Dina Elmuti, whose grandmother was a survivor of Deir Yassin, “Gaza ignites a sense of pride, not with a nihilistic “nothing to lose” mentality, but rather a sense of dignity that leaves behind an unyielding legacy of resistance. Gaza is not Deir Yassin, and it never will be. Although Gaza evokes images of hell on earth, it instills an unprecedented sense of dignity and honor. Today, the world stands witness to the most incomprehensible atrocities and unfathomable trauma in the open-air crematorium of Gaza. But the terror that once gripped us since Deir Yassin is no more. An indestructible sense of liberation replaced it because Gaza set us all free.”

When Palestine is free, when our people have returned, when the rebuilding of our villages begins, when the land welcomes back its rightful owners, we will remember Deir Yassin. Until then, we will never forget, until liberation within our lifetime.
