Happy Holidays! Sending you a big hug from across the globe on behalf of the Hongkongers, who have been restlessly fighting for democracy for the past 7 months against an authoritarian government. Apart from demonstrating on the streets, we have also explored different means to rally support inside and outside Hong Kong, from decorating our communities with Lennon Walls to spreading the words to the outside world through social media. However, the oppressive government has shown no genuine sign or intention to resolve the issue as number of dead bodies and "suicide" keeps on increasing day by day.

As Christmas is a season to celebrate joy, peace and family reunion, we are initiating a campaign #freehkxmascard to spread the story of Hong Kong through mailing Christmas cards to people in the free world to remind them that freedom comes at a great cost, yet without it, everything you treasure can be at stake. We also welcome anyone to send Christmas cards to us back and we will pass them to the protestors, so they know that they are not alone.

Hi there,

Merry Christmas to y’all who are reading this!

2020 has been torturous and sickening, with COVID-19 and all the worldwide protests. It’s not only the virus that is killing us, injustice and all the acts of autocracy are pushing us to the edges.

We are the people of Hong Kong and would like to share with you the unfair treatment we are facing from the government who is not listening to the voices of true Hongkongers. We all live as one, only when people stand together will we be able to fight against the virus and also the tyranny from any government who is trying to shut anyone who has opinions against them.

To Whom It May Concern,

Merry Christmas! I am concern of your health and safety as much as your family or government does. Christmas originated from celebration of the birth of a messiah and new year, it is a blessing. Before the “birth” of an affordable vaccine, I wish you luck and wellness through the pandemic.

Despite technology connects the world, allowing extended families to unite through virtual communication, some are being excluded. Not only do resources inequality, but also political imprisonments even kidnaps are happening, families are being torn apart. In the nation possibly nurtured COVID, they are notorious for infringing human rights as well as cultural invasions.

Embracing peace and harmony, Christmas is a festival of joy. Even though governments might be becoming a digital tyrant through electronic public health measures, or protective supplies are marked up sky high, joy is internal.

Hong Kong people is connected emotionally as a family across borders, we are concerned for the 12 youths being maliciously kidnapped and the rest living under fear of the virus and the government. Fear and ignorance are handy for tyrants, caring to defeat fear, genuine to defeat ignorance. Unifying people through truth and empathy is our belief, we hope to reach out to support people through grief.
