眾新聞自7月國安法生效後三度查詢法官名單或會否公開，特首辦周三首度回應如下：

行政長官指定的法官組成一個名單，當司法機構從名單中確定負責審理個別案件的法官人選，該指定法官的身份便會公開。然而，由於指定法官的任期為一年，實際上可能有些指定法官在任期內無需審理任何國安案件。有見及此，考慮到《個人資料（私隱）條例》的規定，以及早前出現針對法官及其家人的『起底』，甚或恐嚇法官的危害法官安全行為，我們認為在平衡相關因素後，目前不應披露未有被司法機構確定負責審理個別案件的指定法官。

此外，《香港國安法》第十四條亦訂明，香港特別行政區維護國家安全委員會的工作不受香港特別行政區任何其他機構、組織和個人的干涉，工作信息不予公開。行政長官根據《香港國安法》第四十四條指定法官前，一般會徵詢香港特別行政區維護國家安全委員會的意見。按《香港國安法》第十四條的規定，指定法官的資料亦無須公開。
