ㅤㅤ
ㅤif we burn,
ㅤyou burn with us.

they truly expected us to sit back, look pretty, and softly fade away while our skies turned to ash. they mistook our womanhood for quiet endurance and our gentleness for submission, forgetting that the same hands that nurture, heal, and hold this society together are fully capable of tearing down every corrupt system they built.

what is unfolding across indonesia right now is not just an ecological crisis; it is a slow, structural violence inflicted directly on our bodies, our children, and our land. women carry the heaviest burden of this failure. we are the ones wiping toxic ash off our children’s faces, nursing families falling ill from air they have no choice but to breathe, and absorbing the physical and emotional labor of survival while those in power trade away our health for corporate profit. millions of years of ancient biodiversity and sacred peatlands are being reduced to smoke, authorized by policies that treat human lives and our living spaces as disposable.

we are completely done being polite about our right to exist. we are done smiling through state neglect, staying quiet to keep the peace, and accepting hollow reassurances from an administration that systematically chooses greed over human dignity. when the state chooses to abandon its people, the women move in. we link arms, hold each other close, support our indigenous sisters on the frontlines, and transform our collective grief into absolute defiance. clean air and safety are not privileges to be negotiated at their convenience. they are fundamental rights.

ㅤif you leave our homes to burn,
ㅤand our sisters to choke,
ㅤdo not expect your comfort
ㅤto protect you from the fire.
