"Confront the fear, and it's the best relief"

We often see people becoming experts in the very fields they once struggled in.

–A poor man becomes wealthy.
–A fearful boy turns into a professional boxer.
–Someone who once couldn't remember a single thing becomes a master of memory.

In the end, weaknesses can turn into advantages

It is impossible to ignore current air contamination in Tashkent. Even on the low side, breathing it for a full day is like smoking 5–6 cigarettes/day. We're already at a point where even a little ignorance can seriously be fatal. The AQI (Air Quality Index) already warned us to take it seriously. 😷

Umr o'tmoqdadir daryo misoli...

Ba'zan boy berilib bebaho onlar,
Bekor o'tgan damga ko'ngil ezilar.
Essiz essiz bolalikni qoldirib ortda,
Umr o'tmoqdadir daryo misoli.

Qoldirib qoldirmay iz bu hayotda,
Umr o'tmoqdadir daryo misoli.

Keksalik mo'ralab eshik qoqmoqda,
Bolalik qaytadan qaytarilmoqda.
Bizdan erta kunga nelar qolmoqda?
Umr o'tmoqdadir daryo misoli...

Politics today
I am always fascinated by the pioneering leaders' bold decisions and actions that strongly influence and shape global economy and political systems. I will further be exploring interesting and attention grabbing papers about economics and politics.

When days grew dark with burdens left unnamed,
And speech retreated into heavy thought,
You did not urge the heart to break its calm,
Nor turn away from silence unexplained.
You stood where many falter or depart,
Content to wait where patience finds its worth;
In stillness, you perceived what words obscured,
And bore another’s sorrow as your own.
No gesture sought attention or return,
No grievance followed tears you did not cause;
For constancy, unspoken and unseen,
Proved stronger far than sympathy declared.
Time, patient judge of loyalty and truth,
Revealed the quiet labor of your care:
A presence firm against unsettled tides,
A steady force where fragile hopes might rest.
Thus friendship, tested not by ease but strain,
Assumes its truest and most lasting formβ€”
An anchor holding fast through passing storms,
Unpraised, yet vital, faithful unto years

If we were to compare the biggest bank of Uzbekistan – NBU (National Bank of Uzbekistan) with this of Kazakhstan – Halyk Bank, we see a huge gap in terms of net profit for the year and assets, even though two countries may seem economically similar. πŸ™‚

Looking at the statistics, NBU earned about 1.72 trln UZS ($154M), while Halyk Bank reportedly made around $1.8B net profit in 2025, significantly outperforming NBU by almost 12 times. This is insane, we are not even close 🀯.)

Regarding Total Assets, NBU's assets jumped to about $12B, whereas Halyk owns assets worth roughly $44B, making it dominant in Central Asia. Almost 4 times more than NBU's. πŸ₯Ά

I don't understand why there is such a significant difference although two countries got independence in the same year. I knew their financial institutions are stronger than ours, but didn't know the level of a huge contrast between them. What mistakes we made or lacked to perform to take banks into another level like our neighbours ?
