#TellFolk Always perplexed to see a bunch of Indonesian women putting so much effort into making their skin as white as possible with lotions that say “make your skin 5x brighter!!!”, only to then go on insisting, “It’s lightening, not whitening, it’s different.” It’s just marketing language, no different. Or the silliest argument of all is “I had pale skin when I was a baby, I just want to maintain that.” Why do you want to resemble your baby self? First of all, that is a really weird way of thinking, and second of all, you live in a tropical country. Your skin isn’t supposed to stay pale forever like when you were a baby. That’s why you get tan rather than immediately burn in the sun. Your well-lived adult skin is supposed to be brown. You’re a brown person. Please accept your fate and love yourself.
