Results from the Oxford-managed PRINCIPLE trial of ivermectin in out-patient Covid-19 were published in the Journal of Infection on 29 February 2024, over a year and half after the trial’s closure in July 2022, and over 2 years since the originally planned termination. The unexpected pause in January 2022 (said to be due to supply problems, denied by the supplier) remains unexplained. PRINCIPLE is funded by the NIHR, i.e. by the British taxpayer.
BiRD International and the World Council for Health agree however that further trials of ivermectin alone are unwarranted, the weight of evidence summarised at c19ivm.org being so overwhelming that the remaining issues concern dosage, adjuncts, and mechanism, rather than further empirical evidence of clinical effect. The paper’s opening statement “The evidence … is contested” does not survive scrutiny of all available evidence, even after this report. Multiple critiques of design and implementation remain unanswered, data sharing is only offered subject to contracts, and an undeclared conflict of interest is Prof Chris Butler’s parallel PANORAMIC trial of molnupiravir, a proprietary drug.
We find the results unsurprising in view of the poor trial design; they do little or nothing to refute the accumulated worldwide evidence on the efficacy of ivermectin in Covid-19.

New Law Would Make COVID Vaccine Makers Liable for Injuries, Deaths in US
Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) on Tuesday introduced a bill that would allow Americans to sue the manufacturers of COVID-19 vaccines for vaccine-related adverse events, including deaths by removing the vaccine makers’ liability shield.
The Let Injured Americans Be Legally Empowered Act, or the LIABLE Act, would “allow Americans who took vaccines that were misleadingly promoted and forced onto many Americans via federal mandates to pursue civil litigation for their injuries,” according to a summary of the bill publicized by Fox News.
“These vaccines were given emergency use authorization unilaterally and did not go through the normal FDA [U.S. Food and Drug Administration] approval process,” the summary stated.

Alexis Baden-Mayer, Political Director of the Organic Consumers Association, a US-based organisation advocating for consumers' rights to safe, healthful food and other products; a just food and farming system; and a biodiversity-rich environment, free of pollutants; joined us this week on Better Way Today.
According to Alexis, the ‘war on farmers’ playing out around the world is nothing new. Today the excuse may be mitigating damage to the environment from cow farts and nitrogen emissions, and the squeeze may be related to crippling emissions targets and legislation. But for decades farmers have been stuck in a debt trap, not being paid what it actually costs to produce the food and having to rely on bank loans and ever-declining government subsidies to stay in business.
Those who are committed to the Better Way know how important small farms are. We envisage a future where family farms remain an integral part of our lives. There is much we can do to secure this future: let’s get to know our local farmers, buy food directly from them using cash, and in this way build resilient local economies.
