π World Council for Health Statement in Support of El Salvadorβs New Ad Campaign
The World Council for Health (WCH) supports the government of El Salvador in their new Covid-19 advertising campaign and urges other countries to follow their lead.
Instead of pushing for vaccine mandates and encouraging citizens to take an experimental booster injection, the government of El Salvador has taken the high road by promoting a healthy lifestyle to prevent Covid-19 in a new video ad.
The ad rightly explains that a healthy lifestyle, including exercise and a healthy diet, are all safe and easy preventative measures that everyone can take. The ad also highlights what groups are most at risk of mortality, something some governments and public health organizations shy away from addressing.
WCH commends El Salvador for its creative, holistic, and preventative approach to combating Covid-19.
Read the full statement and watch the video ad here.

π World Council for Health Statement on Isolation and Detention Camps
WCH is unequivocally opposed to the use of isolation and detention camps and any current or future forcible detentions.
The process of forcibly relocating and detaining people is a violation of human rights.
WCH believes that the money spent by local and national governments to construct these facilities would have a much greater impact if it were spent on positive health education and providing life-saving early treatment to those that fall ill.
WCH cautions against the use of any strategy that creates further division in societies around the world; believes it is safer for individuals to quarantine at home if and when necessary, where they can rely on their personal support networks and access early treatment tools when they are ill; and calls for an immediate halt to the use and construction of these unnecessary camps and centers.
See the full statement here.

π± Pandemic fatigue isn't an illness, it's an opportunity for growth!
We've put together a useful guide on how to conquer pandemic fatigue, something many of us have experienced in different capacities around the world over the last two years.
Towards the end of 2020, the WHO issued a call urging people against pandemic fatigue, which it described as βa lack of motivation to follow recommended COVID-19 protection behaviors.β But we believe that pandemic fatigue is much more than being tired of wearing a mask, being physically distant from family and friends, following strict sanitizing rituals, and other unprecedented and sometimes confusing public health guidelines.
Itβs perfectly natural to be tired of whatβs going on. We want to help people discover ways to counteract the effects of pandemic fatigue to improve mental and emotional health by using this time for positive growth.
Check out and share our guide.
