A crossroads of ancient history and modern environmental crisis — the Aral Region. The land still speaks through salt-stained soil, thirsty winds, and resilient people. One of our missions at WARC is to help amplify those stories.

We hold workshops on eco-journalism, storytelling, and environmental law every year as a part of our annual ecological service trip in May and continue to grow through year-round collaboration with local schools and youth organizations.

This year our team of volunteers
will be visiting School 39 at Janabazar village, one of our partner-schools in the Aral region in the last week of May.

Our planet never fails to fascinate. Wherever you are on it, we wish a chance to appreciate its beauty for at least a minute today.
Meet the team behind our May Trip! ⭐️

Before heading to Janbasqala this May for our annual project trip, which will focus on environmental journalism this time, we want to introduce you to the people making it happen — our WARC volunteers.

Some have been with us since the beginning. Others are new faces with fresh energy.
But all of them share one thing: a personal reason for being here, a story that brought them to WARC, and a hope they’re carrying with them to Janbasqala.

📸 Swipe through to get to know the team and read a few lines from their WARC journeys. 💚

We’ve worked with the students of Janbasqala School No. 39 across several WARC projects — from eco law and journalism to hydro engineering and theater.

Every time, they’ve shown up with energy, ideas, and a real drive to make a difference.
Their commitment inspires us.

This May, we’re excited to return and work with them again — this time, diving deeper into environmental journalism. 📝🌱

Swipe through to meet some of the bright young minds we’ll be learning alongside. ⭐️

During the May 2024 ecological trip to Kegeyli, WARC constructed a greenhouse using funds raised prior to the journey. As part of the trip's educational component, students worked together to plant seedlings. Since then, they have been caring for the greenhouse and developing a sense of environmental responsibility.

Through this experience, students have gained understanding of the local ecosystem, the fundamentals of food production, and the impact of meticulous ecological efforts.
