Witchcraft / BlackStream – House of Sacrilege (Split) (2026)
Genre: Black Death Metal / Black Noise|Industrial
Country: Finland / Italy

Fresh split with endless noises where Witchcraft (Finland) and BlackStream (Italy) unleash their collaborative creation...

«House of Sacrilege» - an ear-shattering prophecy from the depths. This split is not merely a collection of tracks. It's a ritualistic act where each participant contributes their share of defiling might. The sound is permeated with uncompromising rawness and an atmosphere that calls out to the darkest corners of the subconscious, leaving no chance for salvation.

The Finnish detachment of Witchcraft and the Italian ferocity of BlackStream forge a singular tapestry of destruction, where "cassette" grit only intensifies the effect of being at the epicenter of true sacrilege. The listener becomes a witness to a ceremony that shatters foundations and opens gateways to forbidden truths, leaving behind only the ashes of former convictions...

CROWLEY – Reh. Tape 1993 (1993)
Genre: Death/Thrash Metal
Country: Poland

"Only when the last, the last fish has been caught,
Only when the last, the last tree has been felled,
Then mankind will see, money can't be eaten,
Then mankind will see, money can't be eaten"

The tape offers a visceral immersion into the deepest currents of the Polish underground. Positioned at the grim intersection of Thrash and Death metal, this recording captures a pivotal moment in the early 90s scene. Here, every riff is like a rusted incantation etched onto the walls of a forgotten concrete bunker. This raw, unrefined sound, stripped of any commercial polish, carries the true spirit of a time when imperfection was the ultimate mark of authenticity.

From the very first notes, the tape suffocates the listener with an atmosphere of despair and cold hostility. It is a sonic snapshot of an era where Polish metal was forged in basement rehearsals and fueled by pure, unadulterated aggression.

Mournful Congregation – Weeping (1994)
Genre: Funeral Doom Metal
Country: Australia

This is a monument to eternal grief. Total abyss of despair rendered into sonic form.

The cult Australian funeral doom metal formation craft a monumental canvas of unending sadness where every note is imbued with bitterness and the inevitability of the end. Massive, crushing riffs unfold with glacial slowness, consuming space and leaving behind only the oppressive silence of emptiness.

The inherent low-fidelity grain and imperfections of a raw cassette recording lend "Weeping" an additional dimension of decay. The production limitations are not concealed. Instead they deepen the sense of genuine desolation, allowing one to physically perceive the immense weight of every groan and mournful cry. Absolute hopelessness, feeling its pulsating dread through the sinews of an old tape.

Trolltjern – Hymner Fra Trolltjern (1995)
Genre: Dungeon Synth
Country: Norway

“Hymner Fra Trolltjern” is an icy breath from the Norwegian forests, captured on worn magnetic tape. This 1995 opus embodies the purest Dungeon Synth, where primitive yet piercing keyboard melodies resurrect images of forgotten trails and abandoned castles. There is no metal aggression here... But a thick, tangible atmosphere of medieval decay and mystical solitude, characteristic of the early Scandinavian scene.

The muffled cassette hiss transforms the listening experience into a ritual of delving into the dusty archives of memory. The sonic imperfection of the recording only highlights its authenticity, creating the effect of being in a damp cave where time stopped centuries ago. This is music for those seeking refuge in the shadows of the past, perceiving every rustle of the tape as the whisper of ancient spirits trapped within the analog signal.

Faun – Betrothed Unto Death (1995)
Genre: Raw Black Metal
Country: Norway

Faun’s “Betrothed Unto Death” is the embodiment of primal horror sealed within magnetic tape. This 1995 release presents raw and uncompromising black metal born in the depths of the Norway underground. An occult spirit permeates every second: from unholy shrieks to monotonous, clanging guitar riffs that pierce the mind like rusty needles.

The analog chaos of this recording creates a sense of witnessing a forbidden ritual. The sound is overloaded, drowned in distortion, stripping the music of any hope for light and with the cold void. This is not just a cassette, but an artifact of a bygone era, where true evil needed, hiding behind a veil of asceticism and sincere hatred.

Kestrel – Primordial Remembrance (Demo 2019)
Genre: Raw Black Metal
Country: USA

A cold echo from the depths... Captured on magnetic tape..

This 2019 demo is a monolithic slab of raw black metal, where clanging guitars and otherworldly vocals merge into a single analog drone. The sound here isn't just dirty - it's alive and it's pure true, breathing decay and primordial cold, completely stripped of modern sterility.

The occult minimalism of the compositions leads YOU into the depths of a forest thicket!!! Where time freezes... In a deathly agony....

It is a meditative plunge into the past, where every crackle of the tape serves as a guide to forgotten altars and ruins. There is no room for technicality in this recording, like nowhere...

Only sincere melancholy and darkness, piercing through the dense veil of lo-fi noise...

Bone Awl – Magnetism of War (Demo 2002)
Genre: Raw Black Metal / Punk
Country: USA

Bone Awl is the quintessence of basement rage, captured in a right recording. This remains one of the most influential artifacts of the blackened punk: where raw black metal meets filthy punkish nihilism. There are no redundant details only jagged riffs and inhuman vocals drowning in the endless drone of magnetic tape.

Occult minimalism turns every minute of the recording into an act of sonic violence. This analog chaos is devoid of any desire for aesthetics offering instead the pure energy of decay and the triumph of primitive darkness. Every crackle and distortion creates an atmosphere of total dissociation where the magnetism of war becomes the only reality.

My Dying Bride – Towards The Sinister (Demo 1991)
Genre: Death/Doom Metal
Country: UK

A pure death/doom classic which can listening endlessly. The same words about firsts Paradise Lost, Anathema, Nightfall and The Gathering...

“Towards The Sinister” is the point of no return where British death metal began to mutate into something more viscous and bleak! It is a raw and agonizing manifesto recorded in March 1991 when My Dying Bride had not yet found their gothic (obviosly different and in a case of subjective tastes shitty) sophistication but had already felt the pulse of true despair. Every second of this tape is saturated with a grave-like chill.

The sound here is a thick-analog-fog through which riffs as heavy as tombstones emerge. This demo hides a special occult magnetism: the slowed tempos and visceral growls create an atmosphere of being buried alive in a ritual. It is an artifact of an era when music did not entertain, but served as a conduit to the darkest corners.

Schismatic – Circle of Evolution (1993)
Genre: Death Metal
Country: Poland

Schismatic is an intense outpouring of rage that comes out of the Polish underground, recorded precisely at the peak of the golden age of death metal. The album Circle of Evolution is a wild mix of brutal, tightly-composed SAVAGE technical death metal, where each shift in pace is hiding something primal beneath. At that time metal didnt seek recognition but only destroyed the grey reality around and left behind its ruins.

The cassette recording brings an analog roughness, which adds an eerie, occult touch to the music, as well as memories of times past. Brute force merges with haunting, twisted melodies, immersing one into loneliness and spiritual decay.

...ritual of climbing the heights of chaos and darkness in frenzied mind leaving nothing but scorched earth in its wake...

Victim - Power Hungry (1983)
Genre: Speed/Heavy Metal
Country: USA

"Oh can't you see you're tearing up my heart
(Can't you see) you're the only one I need
(Can't you see) you break my world apart
(Can't you see) that I need you... for me"

Victim in its purest most violent form. Furious slab of speed metal carnage carved out with a rusty knife. This sound wasn't defined by modern sound but by balls and overloaded amps.

The muffled analog hiss of the record replaces any modern effects ceating that specific occult atmosphere of basement chaos. A true cult gem from the depths of the California back alleys.

Pagan Temple - Fullmoon (1995)
Genre: Black Metal
Country: Poland

Pagan Temple were based out of Kętrzyn. Just five track, cheap black and white xerox cover this was put together with zero budget. The music is kind of a mess but has its moments. Track titles like Wood of Forget already tell you english wasnt their main language...

The guitar work catchy sometimes like Graveland. The production is completely flat and vocals sound like Thorn recorded his takes down the hall while the drum kit just clips in the background.

In some way definitely some lost masterpiece! And in same time Just obscure Polish stuff from mid 90s that somehow got a reissue later down the line. Garage-level tape noise and slightly out of tune riffs...
