My creative weekend π
Nearly at the end of #memademay I decided to post something handmade too! βΊοΈ During our recent trip to Kryal Castle Medieval Festival I was wearing a handmade medieval themed outfit for three days! It is not all visible on the pictures from the trip as it was damn cold and I was wearing all the layers at all times! π What I was wearing:
.
π§΅Medieval Kirtle style dress made from 100% linen. More pictures and a video are coming in my next few posts. You can also read more about zero waste pattern I developed for it on my blog, link in bio. π
𧡠Hooded cape made from vintage woolen fabric that came with a label βwoven in the British Islesβ. It is not 100% zero waste, but very low waste pattern. I posted a video about it 9 posts earlier. π
𧡠Medieval head wrap (featured on the first picture) and a silk head cover with a tooled leather head belt (later images). Downloadable pattern for the head wrap is available from my website for a donation of your choice! π
π§΅Tooled leather belt and a handbag. π
𧡠And finally, something you canβt see, but it kept me very warm throughout - low waste thermal wool leggings. Downloadable pattern is also available from my website for a donation of your choice! π

Progress on zero waste medieval kirtle update⦠I have changed the original pattern (featured in my previous post) to make it fitter around the waist and widen the hem. You can read more about the whole project and see fabric layout and assembly on my blog.

After all the exploration of medieval kirtle I am back to my #10zerowastedresses project nowβ¦ βΊοΈ If you watched my βfabric failuresβ video (9 posts back), you know that I had to adjust #hanitazerowastedress pattern for size 20 because there was massive imbalance between the length of the selvedge and the middle of the fabric. Due to that I had to increase belt pieces width to level up the dress hem. In this video I am showing you how I put all the belt pieces together and what I did to accomodate different pieces width. π€π€π€π§‘ππβ€οΈππ
This is #hanitazerowastedress I made for my beautiful friend. I can happily say that apart from leaving close to none waste at the start, the dress is biodegradable as well! π₯° It is made from 100% viscose fabric and 100% cotton bias binding, put together using 100% cotton sewing thread, including overlocked seams, and interfaced with 100% silk organza instead of regular interfacing, that very rarely comes in 100% cotton these daysβ¦
