The elastic on this girls’ skirt snapped and run inside the belt before it was even worn! It was not fixed properly at the starting points. I unpicked part of the belt, put the elastic through again, and pinned the belt back together. Then stitched making sure I do extra strong seams at the elastic starting points. πŸ€—πŸ₯° Skirt is saved!.. Well, not for long. As the pocket was ripped pretty much straight away…. By accident. πŸ˜‚ So the story to be continued! πŸ§‘πŸ’šβ€οΈπŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ€Ž

Leather workshop with a difference! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Ž I am visiting our friends in Queensland. I took all the tools to do a leather workshop with the children. Living on a farm makes a difference in life style, so favourite chickens and ducklings get to participate in children’s everyday activities! πŸ˜€πŸ₯°

A story how you can mix and match items in your zero waste wardrobe πŸ₯° I am wearing #zerowasteharempants with #felicityzerowastedress top. Felicity is a dress that consists of two separable parts - a skirt and a top that can be worn together as a dress connected at the waist line or separately with other pieces. I thought the top went really well with my silk version of harem pants! πŸ₯° I really enjoyed thwack along Mallacoota secret beach. Horse flies were a bit annoying at times though!
.
You can get both of these zero waste patterns from my website!

You can see this book have been used a lot! It is probably my most referred to book after Zero Waste Fashion one. It is an amazing comprehensive instruction manual for couture tailoring. The best I came across! πŸ€—
.
I highly recommend to have a good read through if you want to construct #ishkazerowastejacket in thicker fabrics. The original pattern is for really light weight semi fitted jacket. I still go into a lot of couture techniques, but not as deep as Thomas von Nordhem’s book does.
.
Have you got this book? πŸ’œπŸ€ŽπŸ§‘πŸ€πŸ’›πŸ’™β€οΈπŸ’šπŸ–€πŸ’œ

Family workshops are great for spending creative time with your children, enjoying and learning something together! This time we created three pairs of harem pants. The pattern is easily adaptable for children. πŸ€—πŸ₯°πŸ–€πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ€ŽπŸ§‘β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ€

I haven’t been very active here on for the last few months life was too busy. πŸ’›β˜ΊοΈ But I am back! And how exciting! I am developing a new pattern! 😁 😁 A very simple basic top based on historical zero waste shirt pattern with some cute details! πŸ₯° This pattern has quite a few possibilities for personalisation.
.
I will be releasing it very soon, and if you are in Melbourne I will e doing a few workshops to create this top together with me! Watch this space for further announcements! 😎 β€οΈπŸ€ŽπŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ§‘πŸ–€πŸ€

How exciting! I am developing a new zero waste pattern! πŸ₯°πŸ˜Ž What do you think it is? I give you a little hint - it is not zero waste dress number 10… yet. πŸ™ƒβ€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’šπŸ’œπŸ–€πŸ’™πŸ€ŽπŸ’›πŸ€

I love indigo experiments! The only downside - I can’t stop when I start! I want to dye all my clothes indigo! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ I hardly have any white/beige clothes left, but who cares! Indigo colour is awesome! Do you agree? πŸ˜œπŸ§‘πŸ€πŸ’™πŸ’œβ€οΈπŸ’šπŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ§‘

This is a up on transforming #hanitazerowastedress from my previous posts about a week ago. I am refreshing the design on the dress πŸ₯° It is one of my favourite of all my #10zerowastedresses and I wore it a lot. Originally the dress was dyed with eucalyptus leaves and with wear underarm areas became stained due to reaction of eucalyptus dye with human sweat and then highly alkaline washing powder. To hide the stains I re-dyed the dress with natural indigo. I love the new rustic navy colour a lot! But the original design which was of a very dark grey colour became hardly visible under the new navy colour. So I decided to paint the design again with bronze fabric paint… πŸ₯°
.
Do you think it looks good?

I made this cute frog toy when I was about 9 years old. πŸ₯° My younger daughter really loved it. And because the toy looked flattened out I decided to re-stuff it to make it look great again. When I opened it up though I found that the rubber foam I used to stuff it long time ago became really yucky and sticky… I didn’t know at that time this is not the best toy stuffing! I simply used what I had available! πŸ™ƒ The fabric all became sticky as well, so the toy had to be discarded, unfortunately… It was made from 100% cotton fabric, a piece of rub it fur and stitched with 100% cotton thread (I don’t think we had polyester threads back then). So it will not burden the planet. And since I still have the book I used the pattern from I thought I will make a new toy for my girl. 😊 I used small fabric scraps left from other projects and op shop found faux fur. For stuffing I used 100% wool this time.

This is my husband’s old vest. He loves it. It used to belong to his father and it holds precious memories. Originally it was made from a combination of fine denim and faux leather. Faux leather parts started to break really fast, so I replaced them. If you look through my old posts you will find a video on that. With time though, the fine denim also started to break pretty much everywhere. It got to the point when there was so much damage to the fabric that I decided it is not worth repairing. But I wanted to keep the vest. So I decided to use what I can from it, and make a new vest with parts of the lining and parts of the outer fabric from the old one.

The mystery zero waste pattern I was working is a skirt! #lunazerowasteskirt πŸ₯° I am finalising the pattern at the moment and it will be available soon. The skirt has beautiful drape and is suitable for any light to medium weight woven fabrics. It can be drafted in any size even for children and has some potential for modifications and personalisation! πŸ§‘πŸ€Žβ€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ’œπŸ–€
