russia has been using art and culture as a weapon for years — and Anna Netrebko has been supporting Putin for just as long.
It’s important to understand: culture is political, art is political.
In 2014, Netrebko supported the occupation of Crimea and the regions of Donetsk and Luhansk. Since then, she has said nothing against russia’s war of aggression.
How can someone like this still be given a stage in Berlin?
Netrebko has long stood for propaganda, lies, aggression, and occupation. We must show up — and be loud.
Anna Netrebko should not be given a stage in Berlin!
On May 15, we’ll gather in front of the Staatsoper to protest her appearance. See you there:

Demo: No Stage for Putin’s Supporter 👉 May 15, 6:30 PM 📍 Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Berlin On May 15, we are taking to the streets together with Fellas4Europe to protest the normalization of russian propaganda on German stages. The reason? Anna Netrebko…
Today, together with Fellas4Europe, we were supposed to bring the Ukrainian ambulance Barwinka—which was shelled by russia—to the Staatsoper.
👉 But we ran into difficulties: A whole week with no response from the city, no permit for the display.
So we took it to court. We won. The ambulance will be there.
A propagandist is allowed to perform without obstacles —
but the reality of russian terror has to be defended in court.
We’re doing everything we can to make truth and justice prevail.

Yesterday we protested in front of the Staatsoper Berlin to make one thing clear: russian propaganda has no place on German stages!
Together with Fellas4europe, we brought Barwinka — a Ukrainian ambulance that was deliberately targeted by russian troops during a rescue mission.
It shows what really lies behind the so-called “russian cultural policy.”
🚑 Barwinka will remain in front of Staatsoper on all concert dates of Anna Netrebko — May 18, 22, 25, and 28.
Barwinka stands as a visible reminder of how dangerous it is to give a stage to russian propagandists — so that everyone can see: the war is real, and the crimes must not be ignored.

Our fight against disinformation continues through research.
We’re excited to finally publish four in-depth studies by the experts who spoke at the Truth to Justice conference.
These papers explore russian propaganda, digital resilience, memory politics, and the role of AI in fact-checking.
