#London has not died a natural death but endured a very deliberate, premeditated murder.

The beauty of simplicity..

"Served Through The Window" #Whitechapel Road, East #London, #England.
This is an antique photograph of @GeorgeInn1677 (75 #Borough High St, #London #SE1). The crooked beauty of this image can still be experienced as the pub is currently still trading. Those who love #London and its pubs are all too familiar with this gem. @BritainsPubs
This is 70-Yr-Old Mark Hill riding his wacky Penny farthing bicycle in #Battersea, #London, 1934. There's no wonder as to why this never caught on in a big way, I'd rather ride horseback than use this contraption.

Sometimes, footage from the 80s cuts deeper than that of the 1800s as we see just how fast the world has left us behind. This is #Walthamstow market in the 80s, where my beautiful grandmother shopped & brought me through the 90s. The emotions I feel watching…

This one will be incredibly nostalgic for many from east #London, #Essex, etc. A drive-through #MileEnd towards #Whitechapel in the 90s. Once again, this one's a little too close to home for comfort as it brings about known memories and memories I'd no idea I'd been harbouring.
Just because you fill something up doesn't mean it isn't empty.

Image 1 is an abandoned village in #Iceland. Image 2 is the bustling area of #CanaryWharf, East #London.
The obvious beauty of this empty village only proves the fallacious excuses of economic "progress."
A glorious, antique photograph of the #Wine Vaults in #London Docks. Nowadays our alcohol arrives on lorries, planes and big, boring ships. Once, our booze adventured the seven seas the old fashioned way just so #England's wine lovers could indulge. 🍷 @lostandlivingpubs
Good afternoon, good evening and goodnight from the beautiful #BethnalGreen, East #London
In 1901/2, Horace Warner photographed some of the depraved living conditions of children in East #London, who he named the '#Spitalfields nippers'. The images have frozen a few souls in time, so we may forever view a time & place long since forgotten. (#UnionPlace, #Spitalfields)

The many images taken by #HoraceWarner are a vivid view into the genuine pian, harship, and, despite it all, the stoic hope of the young men and women of East #London. Look carefully at each face, and you'll see the grit, fears, and thoughts of people from a different universe.
Even in deprived, historically povertous #Bow, East #London, evidence of how wholesome the place could be is still visible. This church sits between two busy roads that are packed with buses and other forms of ugly traffic. But, here it sits, unspoilt by modernity.

Heartbreaking sights and accounts from the people of #UptonPark, East #London in the 80s. Though fairly recent, many here are talking from the grave. The woes of the old school Londoners are as chilling to the ear as the narrators commentary on the "High Street of the future."
If we had what little we wanted, we would want for nothing.

Even before a single recognisable word was uttered, humans never needed teaching the importance of the very natural order that's been "educated" into non-existence.

Detail is everything...

This stunning painting by John Gendall depicts the 'View of (19th century) #London with St. Paul's Cathedral from the #Thames'. We can see the monument to the great fire and the heavily congested river that was once the world's motorway of commerce.
This one is incredibly vivid. This is an image of #WentworthStreet in East #London in the year 1908. To this day, the Wentworth Street Market is still open six days a week, but its trade, like its surroundings, has changed with time.
I can not help but notice now much healthier I felt in #Scotland than modern day #London. We are but a representative and a product of the Anglo-Celtic Isles and the environment therein.
Absolutely first bloody class. That's me happy as pie.. 🥄
