Just because a "#pub" is still open doesn't make it a real public house. Throughout time, pubs were places for the poor & wealthy alike to seek cheap refuge among others, obtaining much needed social interaction & forming community bonds. "Gastropubs" are the polar opposite.
The concept of friendship has been utterly distorted. People's excuses to be around others & naturally find connections have been stripped & replaced with soulless, noisy, uninviting bars. A wholesome, down to earth #Pub will never be equalled.

The Owl (Still Trading) 🍻
A pub I know and love.. @VinnieSullivan
"Built in 1776, The Owl has been a McMullens pub since 1898. It was rebuilt in 1975 but still retains a cosy and characterful interior, with open fires and wood panelling. Situated in the heart of Epping Forest we are perfectly positioned for a pit stop whilst you explore the outstanding forest and countryside." (#Pub Website)
