The #Waterloo Helmet/Waterloo Bridge Helmet was found in the River Thames (1868) by Waterloo Bridge, #London. Another amazing pre-Roman #Celtic relic. This bronze ceremonial horned helmet dates back to 150–50 BC. All πŸ“Έ's taken by myself, feel free to ask…
#TheAltonTreause, which is said to date back to the 1st century AD, was found in southern #England and shows #Roman influences within #Celtic design before the Roman conquest of AD 43. The coins depict the faces of various kings of southern England before falling to #Rome.

The Fishpool Hoard of (15th century) discovered, in #Ravenshead, #Nottinghamshire, is the largest hoard of medieval coins ever found in #Britain. Probably buried between 1463-1464, after the Battle of #Hexham in May 1464, (War of the Roses). πŸ“Έ My trips to…
BEHOLD the unfathomably beautiful statue of #Thalia (Ancient Greek), the daughter of #Zeus & #Mnemosyne (8th of 9 Muses). This #Roman, 2nd century piece shames modern sculpting & architecture. This sculpture was clearly showing off! πŸ‘

πŸ“Έ My Trips To The British Museum
The only true commonality between the #British and #Roman empires is that they both damaged their own homelands more than any outside nation they ventured.
