The Adam & Eve #RIP

Address: 126 Abbey Rd, #WestHam, #E15
Damaged during the #Blitz on the 1st July 1944, #WW2 and was reopened 2nd April 1948. It was finally closed for good 1994.
This interesting building on Arbery Road #Bow, #London, #E3 has very unique brickwork.

It looks as though bomb damage (#Blitz of #WW2) was the culprit and one can see the property would have once been a shop, like the homes beside it which had once been a parade of shops.

On this day, 72 years ago, this photo captured the moment a building in Queen Victoria Street, EC4, collapsed after incendiary bombs gutted the structure during the last night of The Blitz #wwii #Blitz #worldwar2 #ww2 #worldwarii

An #English soldier of #WW2 offers his dismay at the world in which he "๐“ท๐“ฎ๐“ช๐“ป๐“ต๐”‚ ๐“ผ๐“ช๐“ฌ๐“ป๐“ฒ๐“ฏ๐“ฒ๐“ฌ๐“ฎ๐“ญ ๐“ฑ๐“ฒ๐“ผ ๐“ต๐“ฒ๐“ฏ๐“ฎ ๐“ฏ๐“ธ๐“ป".
Nissan, prefabricated steel huts on Bridge Road in #Stratford, #London during #WW2 (opposite the trainsworks warehouse). Prefabs acted as replacements for homes destroyed during German Air raids. It's crazy to me to compare the #Stratford of the past with the hell I know today.
Throughout my youth I noticed the elderly, (the children of #WW2) produced some of the healthiest & hardest working people with no signs of obesity. The degree in which we've downgraded as a society is living evidence that those in power have always wished us incredible harm.
Few fathom how many great people & households we lost during huge wars. The middle classes who served as officers during #WW1/#WW2 would have been Oxford graduate poets, inventors & so on. Instead they died in their millions, leaving their property & legacy, free for the taking.
The price of "desertion" during #WW1/#WW2, was death. If you refused to risk a brutal death or commit a grizzly murder against you're own Europen cousins, you'd be killed, by your own state. Next remembrance day, ask yourself what we gained from a century of forced annihilation.
