Citizens Party - Repeal, Don't Expand - ASIO's Authoritarian Secret Police Powers ... What sort of country has Secret Police who, without even needing a warrant, can interrogate a 14yr old child? ... (that means you as well!!)   ASIO are seeking to expand their reach for policing.  In January the government rammed through a Bill in one day that can ban entire organisations even if no crime has been committed.  Parliament is currently considering a Bill that would permanently establish Australia as an authoritarian police state.   It would entrench secret police powers with special provisions that allows the govt to jail journalists who expose government crimes and children as young as 14.  If this Bill passes, these powers will never expire.
Therefore - Reject the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Amendment Bill (No. 2) 2025; and Repeal all of ASIO’s secret police powers enacted since 2003 and return to the principle of civilian policing under independent judicial oversight.
