The United Arab Emirates has announced it will withdraw from OPEC after more than 50 years, with the move set to take effect May 1.

OPEC is essentially the CARTEL of the energy world, and President Trump has chipped away at one of the last big coordinated tools that a handful of nations used to steer global energy prices.

The UAE is OPEC’s third-largest producer. Without it, the club has way less muscle to enforce those “pump less” agreements.
