Venezuela’s National Electoral Council (CNE) carried out a nationwide voting simulation on May 10 in preparation for the May 25 elections, where over 21 million people are eligible to elect 285 National Assembly deputies and 24 governors.
CNE Vice President Carlos Quintero said the trial confirmed electoral readiness, with fewer than 2% of voting machines experiencing issues.
Meanwhile, the opposition is split between those campaigning and others, led by María Corina Machado, calling for a boycott. 36 parties are on the ballot, 13 of them allied with the ruling PSUV.
