Colorado 这个 contact 比较有意思
先用俱乐部的设备 VE4WSC，100W 打过去，信号报告 59，非常响亮
然后把天线拔下来接到自己的 QRP 设备上
8W 用 VE4NAY 呼号发射，信号报告 57，弱但清晰可听
20 倍功率差距听着吓人，实际上只差了 2 个 S unit
信号强度和功率是 log 关系，力大砖飞的边际效应很明显

结果我爸就盯着电影看。 他不是看剧情。 他看背景里的老百姓。 穿的什么鞋？ 皮鞋。 都是皮鞋。 人家二战的时候，打仗呢，被占领呢，老百姓穿皮鞋。
我爸就想：不对啊。 这都建国多少年了？ 二战结束这么久了。 我们这儿大部分人还穿布鞋呢。 有的连布鞋都没有。
就这么一个细节。 电影里一个nobody care的背景。 他就开始怀疑了。
所以后来他就开始捣鼓收音机。 短波。 想听听外面到底什么情况。 Radio Moscow，VOA，BBC，VOFC，VOK，Deutsche Welle。 能收的都收。 反正也不让听，对吧。 但是越不让听越想听。 敌台嘛。
其实也不是想搞什么颠覆。 就是想知道：为什么人家二战的时候都穿皮鞋，我们现在还穿不上。
So my dad, when he was a kid, right. Everyone's listening to model operas, watching approved films. Then one day they show "Walter Defends Sarajevo." Yugoslav film, WWII partisans, fighting fascists. Totally fine, right? Politically correct. Socialist brother country, anti-fascist, good stuff.
But my dad's watching this film. He's not really following the plot. He's looking at the background. At the regular people. What are they wearing on their feet? Leather shoes. Everyone's wearing leather shoes. This is during WWII, there's a war going on, they're occupied, and regular people are wearing leather shoes.
My dad's thinking: wait a second. It's been how many years since the founding of the PRC? WWII ended so long ago. And most people here are still wearing cloth shoes. Some people don't even have cloth shoes.
Just that one detail. A background thing nobody was supposed to notice in the film. That's when he started questioning things.
So later he starts messing around with radios. Shortwave. Wants to hear what's actually going on out there. Radio Moscow, VOA, BBC, VOFC, VOK, Deutsche Welle. Whatever he could pick up, he'd listen. Not supposed to listen, right? But that's exactly why you want to listen. Enemy stations.
It wasn't even about being subversive or anything. He just wanted to understand: why did they have leather shoes during a war, and we can't even get them now.
