As you may recall, the Women’s March organization eventually self-destructed in a classic illustration of my thesis of the Coalition of the Fringes as a circular firing squad when Jewish feminists denounced it for contracting with anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan’s Fruit of Islam militia to provide security.

Many Jews became personally sore at Sarsour, long a vocal advocate of her Palestinian people in their struggle with Israel. For example, New York Times staffer Bari Weiss wrote a lengthy attack on Sarsour and colleagues in the Times called “When Progressives Embrace Hate.”

But all these years later, the Times has worked up a much more emotionally satisfactory explanation for why Sarsour’s leftist organization fell apart than that Palestinians and Jews tend not to get along: The Russians did it!

It started out with him complaining about speed cameras in Chicago dinging fast but competent drivers like himself. Personally, I’m also averse to Chicago secretly reducing the margin above the posted speed limit to issue speeding tickets in order to raise more revenue. But… I’m also aware that if you are a progressive obsessed with racist cops pulling over blacks, then speed cameras are an objective improvement. In an era of soaring traffic fatalities following the depolicing efforts of the “racial reckoning,” perhaps traffic cameras are the best we can do to stop people from dying.

Every single objection Vineyard residents have raised against the illegals being allowed to stay is precisely what ordinary Americans—not privileged enough to live in Martha’s Vineyard—have been screaming from the rooftops for 30 years. Those 50 illegals represent less than a millionth of the “enrichment” that’s already been foisted on the rest of America. (They’re 1/100,000th of the illegals admitted just under Biden.”)

Vastly poorer towns have been forced to turn nearly their entire annual budgets over to feeding, housing, educating—and incarcerating—great heaping portions of third-worlders, while douchebags in places like Martha’s Vineyard (88% white; 3.7% black and 1.7% Hispanic) preen about their higher morality. - Ann Coulter

We have been fools to admit Muslims to the U.S.A. in such numbers, and fools twice over to admit Somalis. Here's a thing I wrote eleven years ago, quote from myself:

Now look: any population has a lot of variation, and I have no doubt there are many law-abiding and industrious Somalis. When you take in 4,000, or 16,000, or 100,000, though, the law of averages is going to kick in—as of course it kicks in unmistakeably in Somalia itself. Human-capital-wise, the Somali averages are simply terrible.

Things are rough in Somalia: chronic civil war, recurrent famine, disease, piracy. Private persons who are distressed by the plight of the Somalis should by no means be discouraged from doing anything they can think of to relieve the distress over there.

The reason nations have governments, though, is to protect and advance the interests of their own citizens. How the interests of Americans, Britons, Canadians, Australians, and New Zealanders have been advanced by having thousands of Somalis settled among them, is not clear to me. Perhaps the State Department could send someone round to explain.

End quote. Why don't people listen?

A U.S. attorney will not prosecute a judge in Massachusetts who aided and abetted the escape of an illegal alien from her courtroom. The outrageous decision is the clearest sign yet from the Biden Regime that equality before the law is dead...

The House Republican leadership has released a policy agenda, presumably in hopes it will influence the November midterms in the GOP’s favor. The agenda is called ”Commitment to America” and yes, it includes a section on immigration.

So what do Kevin McCarthy and his troops commit to? I downloaded the PDF to find out.

Heading: Secure the Border and Combat Illegal Immigration. Under that are two bullet points.

Fully fund effective border enforcement strategies, infrastructure, and advanced technology to prevent illegal crossings and trafficking by cartels.

End catch-and-release loopholes, require legal status to get a job, and eliminate welfare incentives.

Hoo-kay. All right, I understand this is just an outline, but even so this is thin stuff. Thin and vague. ”Advanced technology”? Is that shorthand for

Systematic border surveillance through more effective use of personnel and technology, such as unmanned aerial vehicles, ground-based sensors, satellites, radar coverage, and cameras?

We were promised that in the Secure Fence Act of 2006, from which I lifted those words. You mean we’re finally going to get it, sixteen years later? Yeah right.

Does ”require legal status to get a job” mean universal compulsory E-Verify? If it does, why not say so? ”Eliminate welfare incentives” Well, as federal legislators you can eliminate federal incentives; but can you stop those sanctuary cities spending their own money on the illegal aliens they so enthusiastically welcome?

And the word ”wall” is missing. It's not a very long word. Surely you could have made room for it somewhere.

Any commitment on birthright citizenship? Chain migration? The diversity lottery? Anything at all about legal immigration?
